I am going to make a dvd of the video I shot and give one out to everyone who came. They can burn it and send it out from there.

I rode my zx10 about 4.5 hours to the store (Deals Gap Resort). The last 15 minutes of that ride was in the pouring rain. Got checked in. Wet clothes off at about 4:00p.m. I was beat from the ride so I took a nap while the road dried out. (My plan was to make a gap run and then hit the TWF cookout @ 7:00) Woke up at 5:30 and, guess what, it was raining again. No gap run before dinner. So I rode to the lodge for the cookout.

Had a blast at the cookout (see cookout pics thread). We played ping pong and pool afterward. (JLBusa I'll be ready for ya next year) Then Trip asks who's up for a night run. Of course I was dying to ride, so here we go.

Before we left, I told everyone that I wanted in the back AND that I had NEVER been on the gap before. There were a few, "Are you sure?" "Man you're crazy!" But I had no idea what I was in for.

The following is the internal commentary from fpzx10...

Turn one: nice lil curve, gettin warmed up, keep up

Turns 3-5: Holy f'n crap. What have I done?

One mile in: Just watch the guy in front of you

Two miles in: Don't let him leave you. His headlight is the only way you can see the exits

Three miles in: Did I pay my last life insurance premium?

Four miles in: This is the life or death version space mountain

Five miles in: This road is never going to end. KEEP UP!!!!!

Six miles: What irresponsible f*** let me do this

Mile seven: We have got to be close to the end

Mile eight: I think I'm getting the hang of this (easy section)

Almost mile nine: Hey, there's the guys. We made it. LET'S DO THAT AGAIN!!!

And here we are at the overlook. Of course I'm the one taking the pic

JLBusa has a great vid of the night run. Can't wait til he posts it.
LOL that is funny as hell. You are a frickin great guy kevin, so glad you made it down there. glad you rode your own pace, trying to keep up with the fast four may have caused a few more accidents than we had
