A Canadian man was caught by Border Patrol agents Wednesday evening after attempting to smuggle 767.5 pounds of marijuana into Whatcom County, according to a U.S. Customs and Border Protection news release.
The 24-year-old Vancouver, B.C., man allegedly crossed the border in a stolen truck near Sumas, carrying $3,835,500 worth of "BC Bud" in 13 hockey bags, according to the news release.
He was caught after he crashed his truck into a ditch and attempted to run away from Border Patrol agents.
The Canadian man and the marijuana are in custody of the Drug Enforcement Agency.
