KR V5 custom unveiled

Legendary American chopper builder Roland Sands has revealed his 220bhp V5 engined board tracker at the Laguna Seca MotoGP round.
Sands slotted the Team Roberts V5 engine – one of 15 the team built for MotoGP – into a custom bike that has been built as a collaboration between Sands, Team Roberts and the Discovery Channel as part of the Great Biker Build Off television show.

I haven't seen anything like that before, although it does look old school. nice and original!

So what do you think that thing is worth?

I have a world of respect for KR, but WTF? It's not exactly like these engines are generally available. I wonder what does Honda think, knowing that one of their rare and expensive engines was given up for a show bike?

probably that its going to be useless next year. Besides i think its KR property now. trading some engines for his chassis development figures.

Heck..it might be a motor that has gotten "out of tolerances" for a race motor.

but that comment "out of tolerance for a race motor" reminded me of Sunday when I was flipping channels and I found drag racing on ESPN2. one of the funny cars threw a rod right after it launched, and the whole thing went up in flames. Driver was fine, but they showed the motor and chassis afterwards, and it was toasted. Anybody else see it?

I didn't...but think about all the "old" GP motors that are in the retired GP bikes that go around in shows like Cycle World shos.
