I was looking at a zzr 600 today. I was wondering what the hp and tq is on this bike. I have been thinking about getting a Ninja 650, but the salesman was telling me that the zzr would be a better bike for me. I am still not sure, but I do like the 4cyl and the adjustable suspension, also the bar height.

it's the same as the 02 ZX6r... like a 102hp I think but not totaly sure... and I don't know the tq spec.

the ZZR and the 650R are two diffrent bikes... the 650's gonna have the power much lower in the RPM range which is better for in town "light to light" cruzing... the ZZR is yesterday's Super Sport 600... still a great performer but just not in the class of the modern 600. it'll have more power but you'll have to rev higher to achieve it.

the thing I like about the ZZR is 1. the headlights ROCK... I'll be using it as my main sorce of transportation when I DO get to ride... so night riding is a given... and 2. there's already a HUGE aftermarket because of it's previous stint as the ZX6R in 2002.

I personally didn't like the 650... it felt a way to small to me... but that's my :2cents:

I really don't like the way the 650r sits. Sits too upright for me. You should go with a sv650s, LOL!

LOL... actually... the SV650s is a SWEET bike...

I have done some other minor things to it since this pic, like a comfy seat and michelins to get rid of the cheap 220s, but it pretty much looks the same. Probably will get a new exhaust this summer.

The ZZR if its the same as the 2002 6R The power is 110 (from the engine) and like 89ft lb. And the 650R is 65hp to the ground and like 48ft lb. At least that is whats in one of my new buyers guide to sport bikes mag.

Well I doubt your gonna get BORED with it... It's got good amount of power... probably the BIGGEST I'd say you should start out on... :2cents:

really I'm kinda starting out on it... I had my SV650s for only a couple months when I had to sell it. so in my opinion I'm still starting out... plus it's been a while since I even rode the sv.

besides... there's always performance parts anyways

Its a little powerful for a newbie. The only reason for you to get bored with it would be because you want something different. Not because your better than the bike.:2cents:

Never actually ride one YET but, Id say same apply.

I have a question. Have you even ridden a bike yet or taken the MSF course? If you are nervous on the bikes in MSF, then you it will probably be a couple years before you can out perform a 650r.

Gotta agree. My R6 is kinda getting old for me (I still love to ride it though) and I've had it for 18 months (16K miles). A 650R is slower too, so it may be less time. It depends how much you'd ride it though. For the most part, vol is right though.

It may be getting old to you but I bet you still cant out ride what its capable of. If you can, you need to at the track earning your spot with AMA or WSBK:2cents:

For sure. I still got a lot to learn, but on straights I could def use a bigger bike.
