$1000 buck speeding tickets @ Boulder,CO.

ouch.

I got hammered last year for 76 in a 30. Was riding an empty road and left the stop light and decided to hammer it. Unfortunately, just as I let off, a cop came over a hill towards me. Oops. He gave me three different tickets. Total price was going to be around $250 (shockingly low, really). I called the lawyer the next morning and he got the speeding down to 45 in a 30 and got the other two tickets dropped. Ended up costing me a total of $170 after attorney fees and ticket payment. I'll try to never do that again. I can't imagine a $1k ticket, I would think that would stop speeders.

Holy Geez !!! That would put me in the poor house! :lol: :here:

My claim to fame is one for 175.00 ..but wow! that definately sux!!! I swear I dont know what these cops aversion to speeding is, i mean really!!! :crazy:

WOW...Mine is about the same as Matts since we live in the same area and the law is the same.

$1000 for 20mph over the posted limit... :yikes: thats crazy.

To me, going up to Boulder is like going back in time. I've never speeded there, but they have a terrific canyon just west of town. Don't know if that new law passed, but there has been lots of news about cracking down on "superspeeders", those doing 25 MPH over the limit.

:yikes: OMG!!!!!!!! I've been lucky so far. And when I do get pulled over I always get a warning. I think the most expensivefine we had to pay was when Allen was going 47 in a 25 mph zone. We had to pay $118.00. And that was 9 years ago. :smash:

See that's that Bull$hit!!! :screwy: :cursin: $1000 speeding tickets....listen up ar$ehole cops we have real crimes out there...let's not worry about increasing our budgets by punushing a few speeders... this is a poor a$$ attempt to make more revenue!!! :upset:

Just remember that the Cops, Feds actually, have boosted the fine on the Blue Ridge parkway for speeding to $ 500.00. So be careful at the gap or you will feel some of that pain!


As for the topic. I have a ticket hanging on the wall at parents' house for 135 in 35 mph, that Dad had laminated and framed and gave to me for christmas in 1976 when I got caught near Champaign, Illinois one night in my '70 Challenger R/T with the 426. He was not a happy man when he had to drive 200 miles to come get me out of jail...

Serve and protect? Pfffftt... No time for that.. Too busy issuing revenue generating tickets like this - key word revenue.. On an empty road doing 76mph in a 30mph zone who were you "endangering"? What a joke. I hate this shyt. I have to go to court January 18 for 45 in a 25. Another empty road and another *****ing bullshyt ticket.. It will cost me $150 when it is said and done - he gave me a 5mph over ticket - 30 in a 25 so that is $100 plus $50 for being in a construction zone, which by the way was closed for the day and all the roadworkers were either passed out in the yard or at the bar drinking 10x their bodyweight.. MFP! What a joke. I hate the *****ing system. It is bullshyt.

Personaly i dont care. I hate cops. I have always had bad expecances with cops. The times that I needed a cop they never came and the times I didnt need one they were in my mirrors. I dont really speed that fast in my car to worry about it. Now on the bike that different. When Iam speeding on the bike Im ususlly in a group of 6-10 riders. If a cop pulls out after the group, Im gone. Im sure someone will pull over and get busted. And that person is to say that they dont know me.

I dont beleave in running from the cops but if Im already doing a 100 over the limit...seeya. 20 over I may stop depending on my jump on where I'm. Sure he has radio....blah blah I have heard that a million times. I have the advantage...(One) I'm riding the bike, not like thos retards on cops who have no clue on how to ride a motorcyle. I know that it take 18 mins for an air unit to dispatched. The michigan buget doent let them fly 24 7 like LA. I know that if my speed gets over 120 that any city cop has to back off and wait for a Tropper. The excel rate of my bike compared to his car it ungoddly. I will hit 150 in secs where cant even go that fast. My plate is hidden and (Two) I riding the bike. The cops are 0 for 3 on me. I dont count subway thing because I really didnt know he was behind me. My bike usually dont have any mirriors.

Wow I don't even know where to start. First off Mr. Speedy has done his homework.. lol.. Second off - hell yes! Rock on Twistmeister.. The cops are about 1 for 17 on me. Of course 140mph in a 25mph gets their attention right quick and then tend to come out in full force - of course I was driving a Mercedes stationwagon that wasn't street legal in the U.S. - that might have lit their fire - not to mention I lost them like 20x and I was cruising home and they spotted me but I didn't see them. If you can believe this I beat that ticket in court - not to mention another 125mph in a 25mph zone. The funniest thing was I used to outrun them in my chevette - I would fly by them on the main road and hit the sub right quick.. Usually it was late at night and I didn't use brakes - just the manual trans and I would sneak into a backyard, wait an hour, do a burnout on the lawn and leave.. lol..

Of course this is ALL fiction and even if you do believe it the statue of limitations and double jeopardy both apply so KISS MY A$$!

Well first off, ur not gonna lose to many cops riding that bike in ur avatar. :lol:

I thought it was the beaurocrats and public officials that increased the fines, not the cops.. :confused:

I'm with ya MP!!! That was about perfect on your statements Twisty!!

If I'm on the h/w doing 100 and pass a cop in the middle...I'm gone! Not even going to think about it!!! GONE!!!

Riding with WOS...yep!!! It will be at LEAST Twisty and I in the front doing 180+ We got Triumph riders to take the ticket for us!!! :yikes: :lol:

And like he said, unless you're really unlucky, there is no air support for the cops. Their Crown Vics are done at 135! Don't even think about it in a Tahoe...they're smoked at 93 or 98...DONE!!! So Yeah, I'm not doing 100 anymore, I'm doing 160-185 and I got a 3 mile jump on him before he could even get out of the center hiding spot! Not to mention I can get thru traffic WAY better than that slow big cop car. GOD knows people just get in their way when going down the h/w!!

Plus you have to remeber that he also has to match your speed then over take you current speed 2x to beable to catch me. Sure he has a radio. But once he lost site of me with out getting my plate...Good luck finding me. There is a million blue and white bikes....All I have to say it wasnt me. The burden of proof is on them.
