HOUSTON - Two deputy constables recovered in a hospital Friday after a driver of a minivan in northwest Harris County pulled out in front of them, sending them airborne, Local 2 reported.
Accident investigators said a woman driving a minivan pulled onto Highway 6 from F.M. 529 in front of the Precinct 5 deputy constables riding motorcycles at about 8:50 a.m.
The officers were unable to stop before they slammed into the rear of the van and went airborne. One officer landed on top of the minivan; the other officer landed on the ground.
Both officers were transported by ground to Memorial Hermann Hospital. Their conditions have not been released.
The incident remains under investigation.
