I found this one in the El Paso Times...

Beekeepers plan to remove about 20,000 bees from Eric and Jacque Scholl's home in the historic Swan Lake neighborhood.

The Scholls called for professional help after their 3-year-old son, Nicholas, was stung.

Beekeepers Bruce and Joyce Caldwell found several hives under the floor of the second story of the Scholls' house. The bee combs under the floor were about 6 inches thick and extended several feet. They first noticed the bees two years ago.

A modified vacuum cleaner will be used to suck the bees out through a length of tube and deposit them in a sealed container. The bees will be taken to an apiary, where their honey will be harvested.

The Scholls said they have been delayed in removing the bees because they needed to find a contractor who could expose the insects by tearing out walls and flooring yet stay within the guidelines of the Tulsa Historic Preservation District, which includes their 1930's home.

The family has not received an estimate of how much the bee removal will cost.

 No doubt about it.

I actually went to college in Ft. Lauderdale to play baseball. It turns out it was just between FTL and Miami, which is only 10 miles apart maybe, and we were about 7 miles inland in a town called Davie. Holy crap. . I moved out of Oklahoma to get away from the ******** and ended up in a nest of 'em.

Don't hack on Hugo... It's a (use to be) cool country (back water) town. I once lived there as well...and every now and then I want to go back and visit (about every 5 blue moon)... but the coolest thing there are the Eagles to come to nest in the winter at the lake.

I played at Nova and the coach's name was Sonny Hansley. After one year, I was done; it was the 3rd time to blow out my pitching arm. A couple friends played at BCC and came over to Nova, though.

You live down there or went there?

Im sure the bird watching there is great  It's just a very poor area and when I was living in the area many of the government officials (including a friend from grade school's father) were getting federal prison sentences for racketeering, embezzlement, etc etc. Hugo was a scary place to be at night - and I don't scare easily- I saw a dude get shot @ Jeff's Party Palace in 1996, and the police left before the hearse did :skep:

I loved fishing the Kiamichi River and Hugo Dam, but that corridor is hardly known for its economic growth and flourishing opportunitites.
