hey guys, my friend is looking to sell his 2003 Yamaha R1. its got about 14k on the clock (mostly highway). its been very well maintained and looks and runs great. it has a Hi-mount exhuast and other than that is basically stock. hes looking to get around $7000obo. please contact me for more info or pics. thanks.

Isn't the 03 R1's and R6's the problem bike? I think the new year for all bikes (and cars/trucks) have bugs in them then the next year or two of production they have the bugs worked out. This is why I am looking at the 07 R1.

On the 03 R6's there was a problem with stalling out. Turned out to be the coils. The Denso brand were malfunctioning and there was a recall to replace them with a different brand. Not sure of the brand anymore.

thanks for the compliments guys, its a very nice bike and well maintained. as far as i know the wheels r stock. hes never had any problems with it either. reason for selling is he wants to get into 50cc pitbike motocross racing and not having the time to ride the R1 much lately. pm me if interested and i can give u his cell number. thanks. :cheers:
