well ladies (and :whore: men) i just finished giving the 2006 joe rocket ladies line a hard look. it seems to me that all their gear for women is in pastel colors. either basic black, pink/white, baby blue/white, white/gray. my bike is none of these colors. it would be nice if the gear would match my bike. why do people think i want to wear pink just because i am a girl? i would never ride a pink or baby blue bike. i think it is silly. what do you all think?

I've seen a few pieces in person, and viewed the new catalogue at a local dealership. There was plenty of red, grey and black (there was a distinct lack of regular blue, and yellow.... but truth be told, there's probably only a small percentage of women who would buy those colors). I was actually very impressed with the new stuff. The leather is nice, the jackets fit well, though the pants run VERY small, and the upgraded CD armour is a VAST improvement over year's past.

As for the abundance of pink and light blue -- look how well it's worked for Icon? Much as it might make us cringe (I LOVE pink, but I don't want pink motorcycle gear!), it SELLS like crazy... that Kitty jacket in pink was on perpetual backorder for the first 6 months after it came out. So Joe Rocket jumped on the bandwagon, and I'm sure it'll work for them, too.

Heck, I'm just happy to see an expanded variety of women's gear, even if it's not in my choice of colors. SOME progress is still progress nonetheless.

don't get me wrong, i do like the style of the new stuff. i love my joe rocket gear i have now. pink would look great if you are on the back of your boyfriend's bike. i just wouldn't feel taken seriously wearing it. you are right in stating that they have made great progress in the women's department. now they just need to expand those colors. guess there's always room for improvement though, huh?

I agree with neebelug. Joe Rocket is in the business to make money and those colors is what sells the most units. The good news for you is that more girls are starting to ride and that means they are going to want those colors to match their bikes. Give it time and when the demand goes up, the colors will be there. Not much you can do til there is more of a market though. Sorry. A lady I ride with is always complaining about that, she usually buys men's gear.

guess i could always paint the bike to match the gear. luckily my old gear matches my bike. but i do like the way the new gear is fitted. flatters a woman's shape, not just a smaller version of the men's.

I don't particularly like pink either, but it really does show off her figure. The ICON does at least...
:iagree: You ladies look much better with proper fitting gear. The A Stars Stella's I got for my wife looked

Pink on a women is HOTTTT! + It shows off you are a women, not just another guy. Might be mistaken for a Gay though.
Very true... and I've heard that from a lot of girls -- that they like the pink gear cus then it's obvious to others on the road that it's a GIRL riding (personally, I think the way a woman's butt looks perched on a bike is evidence enough that it's a girl riding, but whatever... *shrug*)

Sadly, I chose my colors (red and black) to go with my helmet. And my bike will eventually be painted to match (matte black with red accents). It all just kinda worked out that way... I had all of my gear before I had my own bike, and her current green/white just isn't workin' for me (*sigh* sometimes I'm such a girl! )

maybe pink does look nice, but it is so cliche. and being a girl, i like to match my shoes to my purse...therefore i'd need my suit to match my bike and helmet. pink won't work for me. i like the flower on the pantleg of this gear. that helps to identify you as a female while riding. now if only they would expand the colors. but now i'm just :bthorse: . :D

Today when I was looking at leathers for me... I seen a nice Vanson leather for the wife... all black but with a pink vanson logo... I think that looks nice and still identifies a girl underneath!

Well this jacket is officially at the top of my Christmas list.... it fits like a glove (considering the pants, too, but doubtful... I can't imagine riding into work in leather pants! )

that's a nice looking jacket. it even comes in your colors (lucky girl). i could probably rock the white/gray suit, if i really wanted to. that wouldn't look to weird with my bike. but i just got my A* leathers this year. i don't really need that many sets of leathers i guess. anyhoo, you made a good choice there.

Thanks... yeah, I'm lovin' that jacket a lot....not sure if I'll get the pants (they run super small), but at least there's the option if I decide to.

I'm REALLY in love with the new Gericke G-spot line (I want that black/white/red tribal jacket and pants so badly!), but that'll run literally twice as much as the Joe Rocket jacket and pants... *sigh* Hopefully I'll be able to upgrade in a year or so.
