i would have to say no!! ive heard a lot of jibber about the new R6 being over rated. this is so not the case, picked mine up 2 weeks ago. we went on a long ride(break in miles). droped on the jardine full system...couldnt stand the little stubby out the side. threw on the pcIII. droped the bitch 2 inches. then headed to the airstrip that my buddy owns and loans to our club on sundays. hooked it up with a zx12r...he give me a 3 bike spot...come on its a 12! couldnt even get back close over the 1/4. we ran again this time w/th 2 bike spot...got back to even at the finish..ran heads up. a freakin 12R only got my little 600 by two bikes in the 1/4ml. overrated.....i think not!

Sweet! Now we got two '06 R6 owners! thanks for the review. I really want to get one, but I don't know if I can afford one. Maybe there'll be a used one around when I sell my bike at tthe end of summer.

who has been saying it is overrated? The only gripe on here has been about the tach glitch. I think we all realize it is an awesome bike, but yamaha just tried to make it a little more than what it was. I love the R6, I almost bought one before I was talked out of it because I am a noob.

like to do da cha cha. no for real doe. i like to do a little dragracing too. helps keep the wheelie happly little mo fo on the ground.. i can still do my stand ups. its all about body position. its just low enough to launch it off the line and powerful enough to stand up and put it on the rear. i used to have to drop to second on my 02 R6. this one will stand up in 3rd with no prob.
