We just got our first R1 in the anniversary color scheme and it looks absolutely awesome in person. That is all.

That's the LE, which we won't be getting, but it looks similar. I'll have to see what I can do about pics...I've been a little busy lately.

the noticealbe difference between the LE and the SE are the things that say OHLINS on them.
OH, OK... I spoke with a salesman at the local shop here and he led me to believe the only YELLOW bikes would be the 50th ANN. which were the limited edition bikes- and only available with the R1. So i guess he had it wrong-? If i understand correctly there will be an available R1 in yellow that is not the LE...? The LE offering OHLINS shocks as one major upgrade.

the salesmen at the dealers are sometimes foggy about the things they sell. I once had to do some convincing that the Kawi 650R was not a four. Anywhoo...The 50th Anny paint (SE) comes on the R1 and R6. The LE is an SE with OHLINS suspension, light weight rims, and "tweaks".

Besides the Ohlins bits, the LE also has Marchesini wheels, a slipper clutch, and an extra $8k on the price tag. They also sold out almost immediately, so if you don't have one on order - good luck. Personally, I think the stock black wheels with the yellow stripe look better than the gold colored Marchesini's...

I forgot to bring my camera to work today...maybe one day next week.

My understanding is that the motor is identical except for the clutch. I think the R1 got some minor upgrades in general but that applies to all versions. My sales manager is an R1 fanatic, I'll ask him about any other differences.
