First of all... HEY EVERYONE!!!! Newer to the forum... 1st time caller long time listener. Ive been playing with my new 04' 600 F4i in the last few weeks... making subtle adjustments to the suspension and feeling out the ride. My question is.... does anyone have a good setup?? Im really kinda squidish on the setups right now.... even though I can set up a dang dirt modified or any other race car for that matter. 2nd question.... know anywhere where I can get a cheap rear stand for maint??

Thanks!!!

Mike

Start out with setting rider sag (rider w/gear) at 30-35mm front and 25-30mm rear. This is a very good general setup for both street and track, not a bad ride. You will probably find that the rebound dampening is limited. I had mine turned to almost full closed (backed out 1/4 turn). I rode with stock forks for almost two years. If you more info on how to set sag there are some good threads on here and other places on the web. Post up if you need further links.

If you really want to hurt your brain and get the details check this one out.

:2cents: Future upgrades to possibly consider are constant rate fork springs for your wieght. Stock ones are progressive and ment for evryone that could buy an F4i to work somewhat good. Revalving make sure you do both compression and rebound, rbound is the big limiter in stock form. Rear shock aftermarket or revalve, more rebuild and adjustment options on an aftermarket shock (Ohlins or Penske).

I just finished with Ohlins revalve on forks, Racetech fork springs, and an aftermarket Ohlins rear shock (46PRXLS) . About $1650 so it ain't free.

Yeah those handy stands are suppose to be about the cheapest yet desent stands out there! No pit bull but about half the price if not less than that.
