Bosses beware! Fully 71 percent of U.S. workers are slackers. They aren't doing their jobs. The best employees are the newbies--the ones who have been on the payroll less than six months. They aren't jaded and are still trying their best. The worst workers are the ones who have been with the company a long time. "The longer employees stay with a company, the more disengaged they become,"

i think the employers are to blame for this. i've been at my job for like 5 yrs and i havent heard management acknowledge anyones hard work. They fired a guy a few months back because he missed to many days(10 points).1 day = 1point. his four year old son weighs like 24 lbs. He had a bunch of surgeries and he was two weeks out from being eligible for FMLA. He was without a job and health insurance!! tell me this kind of stuff doesn't affect how people feel about their employers!!!!

This is one thing that I must say about my work. While there are many days that are a bit easier, but in general we all work hard. But we get the credit from our company and management all the time. Every year we get anywhere from 1 to 6 different rewards depending on safety and dedication. I really love my company and it's the #1 reason why I am still at the company!

I hate Slackers !!! I always have to pull their weight and do their job!! I have enough to do as it is without all their bull***** too!!!

I'm not saying I don't like to take it easy at work from time to time, but damn, when work has to be done, it has to be done!!!

My company doesn't lay anybody off, and hasn't in it's entire history. If they want to cut some jobs for some more technology, they just wait for a guy to retire and don't replace him...

All of this, adds to the family feel in my company, which promotes a hard work type attitudes!

I'm in a job where you have to work hard to make any money. You slack, you don't get paid. I work on a commision salary, so you have no choice. There are stylists there that sit in the back room all day and don't do a [email protected] thing, then gripe because they make no money. The more people you do, the more moolah you make, and I don't mind busting my butt, because I love what I do. I think that's the real cause of the slacking, people hate their jobs. If you're doing something you love, you'd have no problem doing your job. Just my :2cents:

This guy is so right. I have been with my company for 3 years. The 1st 2 years I did nothing but travel. I busted my a$$ and saved the company millions of dollars with my software and I got NO acknowledgements. So now i just come to work and put some hours in and go home. I use to work my butt off but I just dont care anymore. I watched people with less education and skills get promoted and I still write software. Sure I am the best they have but I only do half of what I use too. I come in late EVERYDAY. I surf the net for hours, I dont check the box next to my name when I eat in the cafe, so the cost is never taken out of my pay check. I dont attend work functions, I just dont care. :nonod:

First off I have to say I hate the following:

1. Lazy people
2. Incomptent people
3. Both that get in my f*cking way and cause me more work

But in my case I have worked at over 30 companies - it is all the same. The companys care about one thing and one thing only - making money - the bottom line. Guess that's why I never get fired I get pissed off and quit because if there is one thing I do well it is make the company money and lots of it. Once I worked 80+ hours for 3 months doing the impossible getting a company certified in QS 9000 TE - NO ONE, not even Durrand could pull off a monemental task like this. With that the company received over $46 million in contracts they never would have gotten otherwise. What did I get? Oh thanks you can take 1 or 2 vacation days and then back to work because we have lots to do. WTF is that? I could tell you plenty of similar stories. The company I am at now is by far the worst - a lady works there for 39 years - she was loyal to the company, did her job, kept her mouth shut and what does she get for it? She gets axed 1 year before full retirement and gets the shaft - boy I am motivated now. Currently out of 20 departments in my company only mine made money this year. Who gets shoved in a shythole office in the corner? Yeah you guessed it the people who made the f*cking money and kept the rest of the mfrs out of the gas chamber in Stuttgart. Now they are merging and axing people left and right - no rhyme or reason and no warning. Gee I am motivated now. It is sick. I have read reports that the most successful companies in the world are not like this - the employees are treated well, overpaid, etc. The problem is none of these companies are hiring because no one ever quits or leaves.

So yeah no wonder people are slackers. Companies need to dangle the carrot and take care of business but they don't care - they are greedy pos.

WHOAH! MP!! Calm down there killer!! It will be ok, the R6 will be out in just a matter of a few short months and then you will have someplace to displace all that pent up anger and agression. Or you can go over Twisty's and just arm wrestle him, he's always up for that! :D
