Have you tried going to a dealer and sitting on one? Is it the hard seat or is it the general forward riding position? Kawi makes the Z1000 and it's not full faired. Just go sit on a bunch of bikes. I like the R1 myself.

A 919 is an older CBR right is it a different riding position?

Kind of but not really, it is often compared to the early 90's CB1000 too, but it couldn't be more different. It is essentailly a Mid 90's CBR900 engine, re-tuned and fuel injected. With a adequate frame, brakes and suspension. Exellent ergos, with a power band perfect for in town or back road twisties. I love mine, and even with the bargain basement suspension I can hang with the big GSXR1000s and CBR1000s in almost any type of steet riding.

Most people don't know what kind of bike it is. Mine doesn't have the 919 decals on the tail, I love to suprise the guys on 600s.

I have an 05 CBR1000RR I would really appreciate anyone that could possible advise of another 1000CC sportbike that is even slightly more comfortable please! Thanks
what's uncomfortable about it... each bike is going to fit each person diffrent... I'm 6'3" so certain bikes are going to feel good to me... but a strech for someone 5'7"...

if it's the Seat you might try Bill Mayers Saddles

If you want a full fairing bike you can pretty much forget about "comfort".
I'm thinking the same thing...

If not, try the half fairing styles...

Zuk SV1000S
Kaw Z1000
Yam FZ1000
Yam FJR1300
Honda 919
Honda Super Hawk
Honda Interceptor  nuttin like a V-4

I'm 6'4" tall most of the discomfort comes from the weight on the hands, not my wrists but my hands. Also get some discomfort in the shoulders and elbows.
well any of the bikes Gman listed are going to have a little more upright seating position... so it'll take some weight off your hands/wrists... in the mean time... try squeezing the tank with your legs... to support your weight... do some exercises to strenthen your abs/back... even if your are in shape those are probably muscles your not used to using for extended periods of time/in the way your using them... :2cents:

just be aware... any of those bikes that sit more up right (the ones Gman listed)... aren't going to have the performance of your RR

What kind of riding do you do, primarily? I can think of all kinds of bikes that are more comfortable, but may not suit your needs.

Do you primarily commute, tour, ride the twisties, do track days, or just cruise around. Do you like performance, or is it not that important to you? How important is sheer cornering speed and agility? How about smoothness of ride and motor? You may want to look at an Yamaha Fj 1300, Aprilia Futura, or Ducati ST3, if sheer speed is a little less important than all-day comfort.

I know good riders that own these bikes that can smoke the avarage sportbiker on a curvy piece of real-estate.

Right on. When stopping or braking I'll squeeze the tank w/ my knees and use my abs to keep my upper body from leaning too much on my hands. Just keep trying this method. The only time my hands hurt now is wjen I'm doubled up w/ my girl. because when I stop all her pressure is on my shoulders.
