Looks like it will work but the second vid shows even a head on will still not help as much when your head hits first. But to protect the body a bit more sounds good.

how they find a volunteer to be that crash test dummy ??

in that first vid, they were deploying without him hitting anything, although I had to watch them with the sound off snce jesse is sleeping..so dont know if they were talking about them.

how do they know when to inflate?

I'd get one of these in a heartbeat!

Good point there. Its not like a car which has sensors to deploy them. Do you have an article on it as well??

Actually it looks that there was an impact from the front board which pushed the dummy back and caused the bag to deploy. Seems promising.
