IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 21, 2005--New motorcycle sales continued to climb last year, rising through the one million mark and reaching levels not seen since the 1970s. Now if the statisticians that are saying motorcycle deaths have risen steadily would take a look at THESE figures, maybe we could get an accurate representation based on PERCENTAGES, not just numbers.

Numbers are great, motorcycling is growing, and so is the squid population. I wonder how many of those million know how to actually ride a motorcycle.

I would also like to see how many were harleys, hondas, etc.

I would say those numbers would be based on title, registration, and tax numbers. Not all bikes sold are registered, but they all have titles and someone pays taxes on them. It would be a good idea to consider the variables before releasing items like deaths are up.
