A buddy of mine sent me these pics from the Midnight Ride up in Chicago. It looks like a Japanese v-twin, especially considering the shaft drive. I think it looks like an old Honda, but we can't remember any that were air cooled. It doesn't look like a Yamaha to me but they are more likely to be air cooled with a shaft drive.

That thing is way to fugly to be a production bike. I'm guessing it's a backyard custom of some sort.
