MOTORCYCLE CRASH
Woman killed, man injured
Monday, September 13, 2004
A York woman died and her husband was injured after the motorcycle they were riding was involved in a wreck Friday afternoon in Clinton Township, Lycoming County.
According to the Williamsport Sun-Gazette, the motorcycle's passenger, Constance Heindel, 45, of York died as a result of head trauma in the crash. Steven Heindel, 47, the cycle's driver, was listed in fair condition at Williamsport Hospital on Sunday. Neither was wearing a helmet, Lycoming County Coroner Charles E. Kiessling Jr. told the newspaper.
Montgomery Police Chief Terry Lynn said the crash happened after a driver of a pickup made an improper lane change in the northbound lanes of Route 15, forcing the Heindels' motorcycle to brake suddenly, the paper reported.
Keissling told the Sun-Gazette that the Heindels were en route to Potter County for a charity event when the crash happened.
If she would have had her helmet on, maybe she would be ok. Maybe.
