Hey guys,

After taking a light spill this weekend and tweaking the snot outta my clutch bar and shift peg, I'm curious as to whether there are any aftermarket makers of these things or if I just need to get factory replacements for them...

Thanks :)

There are some aftermarket brands that are basically the same. Some not as good as OE but will do the same thing... I suggest EBay for most of that common stuff!

Of coarse this is if you're not trying to upgrade!

Well... Both those items are fully functional still...just tweaked. Seemed like a good opportunity to look into adding something nice(er) to the ole sled if there are any out there....:D

These are awsome, just bought them for my race bike and the Gixxer 1000.

CRG Unbrakeable levers
I like these levers alot, I noticed alot of guys had them on the FZ1's when I was at the gap last month for the annual FZ1 rally. They are a little expensive but I'm sure they are well worth it. great look, great feel, and great durability. :dthumb:

Many of your OE brake levers are coming with break away notching.... I know that Super's 954 has them on his OE levers....

But what I don't get is.... the folding up option...is that just for crashing?

yes...my bar end mirrors do the same fold up option. I'll go take a pic real quick, and post it.

OK I just about got my @ss soaked but I got it.

Yes. Specifically they were designed for racers. When you pick your bike up after a slow lowside, often the only thing that prevents you from re-joining the race (or at the very least riding it back to the pits instead of on the crash truck) is the lack of a brake lever due to it breaking off.

With the fold-up levers, you just whack the lever back down and carry on.

You can also just drill a $12 replacement brake lever so that it snaps midway :D

Some levers are coming with a slot that breaks away a small portion of the lever instead of the whole thing.

That's what I meant by drilling it - same principle, the lever breaks where you drill it, same as on a "notched" lever. The notched levers are usually more than $12, so I just use the cheap ones and drill them :)

ok i love the CRG but the pazzo levers are basically the same and the price is al better. but they dont have fold up ones. but my honest opinion on any of these after market levers is how do they get the price of 100 a lever. how can u charge that much for metal. but i will still buy some

btw pazzoracing.com also has more color options if anyone cares.
and i think speedwerks should deal them so i can get a better price. lol

I believe you can also get the "shorty" CRG handles. They're good for the two finger brake and clutch guys. They don't need the breakaway notch because they're already short enough.

I like the colors and whatnot on the Pazzo ones, but they don't appear to make 'em for the SV...

I agree though...that seems like a lot of cash for such small pieces of metal :p

So which way do you drill them? From the top or the side?
