I purchased a new pair of A* SP1's about 2 weeks ago. And I find that they are still really stiff and need to comform to my hand... other than just grin & bear it while I ride... has anybody had any luck with other methods to speed up the break in?

Ace suggested getting them wet and ride with them on. He said this worked great last year in his new JR's at the GAP last year. He said they were killing him and then they got caught in the rain and after they dried out they were way looser and easier to bend....

Any other ideas or if you have had the same thing happen?

I CANNOT believe I am going to say this but Ace is right... :yikes:  I use that method too. Don't soak them but get them damp all the way through, Then put them on and ride with them until they dry. They will conform to your hand really well and when you stop, you can pull them off and run around and tell everyone to smell your fingers...

Yep! :iagree: get them wet. If you dont have time to wear them dry, just roll them up tight at the fingers for a little while.
The better they pre curve the less it is on your hands.
