You are all AMA members right??

Just curious...I am and I think they do alot in protecting our rights, being our voice in cases where the average joe wouldn't have the resources.Just my :2cents:

AMA... NOPE! I don't agree with many of their POV's. But honestly, I'm just not. Haven't felt the need or desire to...

Good thread... maybe it will change my mind.

I am. I support the racing. I support MOST of what they do, everything except spending so much to fight helmet laws. I agree with helmet laws, and think people look like an ass w/o one. But that isn't enough for me to not support them.

Nooooo...they didn't fight for that, that's one thing they didn't have much involvement with,(I'm pretty sure)they(and I)also believe helmets should be enforced!Anyone who isn't a member should check out their site, they really do a good job of involving themselves and being our voice in alot of important issues;land closing to ORV's,drunk and/or cellphone toting individuals killing motorcyclists and getting a 100 dollar fine, and laws effecting us(motorcyclists) when otherwise those in power would go unopposed to do as they pleased!!!

That's what I'm concern about.

For example, I am a member of AAA. But I use their towing services...so its worth it...AMA.... not sure!

AMA does offer legal services but, with today's lawyers. We don't really have to worry about being able to sue somebody.

Yes, but did you know that the racing portion of the AMA has nothing to do with the AMA memberships? AMA Pro Racing and the AMA are separate business entities. :)

True Laura, but I think that w/o the AMA there would be no AMA racing series.. Maybe something else perhaps, but if it was something like WERA or CCS I seriously doubt they would draw the crowds or the TV like the AMA does.

They seem like a good organization, but I'm not a member. I'm too cheap to be a member of anything that charges.
