Seems you can't find a Buell dealer that doesn't sell HDs. It makes sense, but I wonder how many people don't bother to look into these bikes because of it?

I doubt they sell enough bikes to have a separate dealership, and the concept of mixing the American-made sportbike by HD with anything Japanese goes against the very basis of HD, IMO. So, I'll be really surprised if that changes.

If Buells get popular with street racers and stunters, sales will go up. Otherwise, I doubt we'll see much change in the popularity.

The one around here..laugermans harley davidson sells both..u know, u gotta appeal to the hard core sportbike harley crowd as well as cruiser dudes.. :crazy:

Buell got financing from HD to start up. He was an ex-employee of HD and Buell is actually a division of HD now. I have ridden a couple of models and they are quick and nimble...however the short wheelbase was uncomfortable for me on rides of 75 miles or more. They are pretty good...they just haven't sold me on one of their models yet

they ride really hot too for some reason..I just dont see any nimbleness though about em..or quickness for that matter..they're pretty doggish from the ones I've ridden a few times..just not my cup a tea.

Well, they do handle pretty decent, but you have to get a 900+ to just BARELY stay ahead of a Kat 600. However, they do have a lot of low end grunt. But they run out above 7K. My step-brother has an XB9S, so I know about both the handling and speed. If HD would let Buell make their own engine, instead of making them build a frame around a sportster engine, they could probably build a really nice bike.

Yeah, Ive only ever ridden a Blast, never a lightening..but just didnt really feel the difference, performance wise would be all that much change, but since i dont know first hand, I couldnt say for sure.

A blast is nothing more than a hopped up scooter. :lol:

The 9S is really good through the corners. It could handle better then I could push it. Now down the straight, anything over a 100 mph and its slower than a 600. I now have a 12R and it seems to be quicker steering then the 9S but the riding pos. is more aggressive and tires are also. I will have to see when I get it on the track.

Hey Brad, I see you finally made it to the site. You won't find much info on Buells in here, but I think you already knew that. However, come join us over in Off Topic and other sections. The other guys will give you crap for owning a Buell, but hell with 'em. You and I both know how that bike handles.
