If you don't have leathers with knee sliders. Your better off.
Exactly. I can corner fast enough for my riding with out dragging. I find that when I slide around the tank I tend to stick my knee out...which obviously is not what I want to do w/o the sliders. So I try not to hang way off. I mean I've got no strips in the back and less than 1/2 inch up front on the right and about 1/4 inch on the left.....and thats on a heavy, slow, old ass 92 beotch!

I'd say it's time for some leathers and track time.

Keep your eyes peeled for late or early season trackdays, as well as fundraiser trackdays. I did april 1st for $25. Also did a breast cancer track day for $100. Good deals! Keep your eyes peeled at the local tracks for days like these. Charity days and/or certain track schools have really good deals sometimes.

Yeah, and actually I added on day 2 for an extra $100... so for two days at Grattan including the team chicago school classes was $125! Of course it was $300 for the new set of powers that I needed, but oh well :D

You save the jack on the trackday which means extra loot for whatever else.

Yeah, and not every date that they do end up having ends up on their schedule. A lot of times there are private days put together by individuals. You can usually catch the word on those in the MI section of cycleforums.com or on the WOS forums in my sig. The cheap day is always April 1st every year, so definitely check that out.

whether u have or not, if youve never really researched cornering or been taught.. its a PERFECT link... more ppl need to know how to keep the bike as upright as possible... its SAFER... less likely to wreck that way by over powering or over breaking, it simply leaves you more grip for the tires the more upright the bike can be in a corner at a given speed..... Whether u want to go knee down or just be a safer AND faster rider, heed the advice and practice... A LOT Body positioning is EVERYTHING in being fast

When I got my icon knee pads I went out to a local spot called .6 and drug my left and right knee just to say I've done it. That was about a month ago. I've only drug my right knee once sence then and it wasn't on purpose.
If I had some leathers and pucks I'd be doing it all the time.

Roadtec Z6 tire. And i took a good look at the elephant this week and the top have is pretyt much gone, the edge half might be pretty well gone by time its done, im gonna get 6K miles from this tire.. which rocks cuz its a peg and knee down grip type of tire and ive never had another tire last over 4400.

I am not sure if im gonan do powers, just cuz i know ill kill it in 3000 miles and now sint a good time to buy tires all the time

Is that his pipe or his peg dragging? You don't want to lean that much without knee sliders because of that. Your knee is a guide to prevent that from happening.
The pip actually did hit that day. Knee down wouldn't have made any difference. There is a slight dip in that corner and sometimes causes that to happen. I've ridden that bike enough with leathers and sliders. I've gotten comfortable with corner speed and safe lean angle.

I'd say it's time for some leathers and track time.
