For those that don't know Arlen Ness is a living legend in custom motorcycles. He virtually created choppers what they are today of both todays styling and old school chops.

He not only sells his own line of motorcycles like any other custom builder. He also produces a full line of parts that most other custom builders use. He is probably one of the most highly respected builders to even live.

Well at the Custome MC show I got to not only see first hand some of his most famous bikes. I also got a autograph from Arlen and his son Cory. Not too mention a pic!!!

The autographed calender framed for the wall.

Not only did they stand there like a couple of normal guys. They were real friendly. Not what you would think from a couple of millionaires many times over. They were as normal as they seem on the Biker Build off shows. It really made it worth the entry fee to get into the show. Needless to say I was STOKED!!

Hes an awesome guy and a hell of a builder. Meet him either last year or year before at the show in York. :dthumb:  I even have a few pics I posted at that time of his bikes and the oldest on one.

I meet him at bike week Daytona a few years back. I had just started thinking about buying/building a custom for myself. He tried to convince me that I could afford one of his bikes vs. the manufactured customs. Got me really thinking about it, till I did the math.

The funny thing about it. I wasn't so sure I was talking to him because he acted just like an everyday Joe trying to make a living selling bikes.

:iagree: with Jeeps and Slam. He did act like a normal guy. And if I could afford, like Slam says they're expensive, one of his bikes I would buy one in a heart beat!

Arlen Ness been around for 30 plus years, prefer his old shop on East 14th in the hood of Oakland:dthumb: Pleasenton/ Dublin shop to fancy:scratch:
As somebody else pointed out. You can talk with Arlen all day about bikes without him tring to sell you something:cheers:

It seems like Arlen is the "Barris" of choppers if you will. He can sure go over the top.
Arlen's shop been around for 30 plus years:whistle: Located on East 14th in bad section of Oakland. New shop in Dublin nothing like Oakland shop, FANCY upscale. Back in early days Arlen sold parts for JAP bikes also:crazy: Also made custom bikes based on Jap bikes such Honda CBX. Back in late 70's purchased my first aftermarket chambers from Arlen for my RD250 roadracer:yikes:
