OK Im 6'2" and 240 lbs and considering my first bike. What measurement (bike height, seat height, length etc) should i compare to ensure that I fit properly on it? The bike that im considering for looks is the upcoming Ninja 650R, but am also thinking about the yamaha R6 (raven). I know that how I FEEL on the bike may not necessarily equate to how I look on it. And we all know that looks do count.

Just for kicks, yesterday i checked out the pontiac solstice and felt like a koi in a lil fish bowl.

For you big guys out there, what bike did you find that fit you well?
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated

I know what you mean, a big guy on a small bike does look odd. It also feels odd riding. Regardless, you should feel comfortable on the bike and be less concerned about appearance.

Sit on a few bikes and take someone with you, get their opinion.

Let's see...the CBR 1000RR is only 35 lbs heavier and no wider than the 600 RR... It isn't going to matter...buy a cruiser if you want big bikes. I am 6'5" and in excess of 250 and I ride an F4i that will haul my fat A$$ 140+ so I think you should be more concerned with performance and handling...unless, of course you're posing...

I must agree... the 10R is actually smaller in many aspects than the 6RR... either way you're going to look like a full grown humping a childs 20" bicycle! But they will do the trick...as many are telling you!

Getting a Busa, for a first bike, is CRAZY talk!

I knew a guy that was selling a Canyon somin bike... it was a large bike and he could seriously ride it as fast as anybody on a sportbike.

I'd consider comfort and a bike that's easy to handle before I'd consider "how it looks". As long as you enjoy yourself riding, who cares?

at 215 and 6'0 i can fit on a f3 and have been doing so for awhile so i can sypmathize with him, its not that bad, but 750 will be my next purchase for sure, u head strong of getting a repliracer? cuz they are all small, as the big guys are finding out the bikes aint made for "normal" sized or a bike that fits is too damn big cc wise for begginers, it sucks! but good luck have u ever rode before

I was considering the ninja 650r when it comes out or the katana or the zzr 600 for my first bike. not really racers but not cruisers either. This will be my first riding experience and cant wait!
