My ex boyfriend was badly injured last week and I found out today.

Here's the info I posted on a local fourm, please pray for him if you can.

Keith was in a basd accident a week ago on his R1, many of you know Keith from bike events. Keith was badly injured and is current in a non responsive coma at Parkland. Please keep him in your prayers and if you know him go see him. Please keep up with updates from his family at http://keithhamm.blogspot.com/

Donations would be a great help for Keith and his family.

Keith is the love of my life. He was the reason I joined SBH because he was an amazing rider and I trusted him implicantly with my life. Please be careful out there and wear your gear. Keith always wore his and was wearing his when this accidnet happened which surely saved his life. Now he needs to be a strong fighter to beat this coma and your prayers will be a great asset.
Thanks

Hey you guys Im glad this thread got you thinking about being careful. I was absolutely terrified of the bike before I rode with Keith. But I got on with him because he earned my trust and I knew that he loved me and would not do anything to harm me. He was the best rider I know, always careful but this happened to him. Just be careful out there ya'll! Ill never get on one again :( If you want to know what happened in Keith's accident there's the description on about page 4 or 5 of the sport bike hype thread. He was a good driver but as you all know enexpected things come up and you have to make split second decisions.

Anyway, on to the update. I saw him yesterday for the first time and I feel like he's here and he's working on coming back. He reacts when you talk and none of us believe it's what they say is "lower brain stem response" He had tears come out of his eyes and would grip my hand as I talked to him. I spent an hour with him and I feel like he knows its me and he's fighting to come back. I went to see him today as well and though I literally only got 1 minute with him, I have good news. When I walked up to talk to him his fist was clenched and I said "Keith you need to open your hand so I can hold it" and KEITH RELAXED HIS HAND! I feel he's making tremendous progress, so please keep those prayers coming. His family is deeply touched by the strong show of support from the bike community. A group of riders from a christian sport bike forum tat never met him came to see him and that meant a lot his family. So please keep up they prayers and support and as always wear your gear!!

I talked to him on the other forum a few times, seems like a cool guy. Sorry, that really sucks. I'm glad things are going as well as they can at this point, though.
Wow I never knew that. Did I ever come up? hehehe just kidding. Yeah he's a really great guy and I just know God has a plan for him.

Just a quick update, Keith is attempting to open his eyes, they open partially when he's in discomfort but also in response to people he cares about. Every day seems to get better, first it was only a little, now even more and he has even moved his eyes toward someone as they entered the room. Several nurses and technicians have commented that the signs all mentioned in the blog (moving his arm and hand, making faces, responding to pain, responding to people, turning his thumb up upon command for the nurses etc) are all signs that he is "coming out of it" I have seen all of this first hand and I see progress and my heart is lifted by his strength!! Please continue to pray for him, we believe he's one of a kind and he will overcome this. Thanks!
