Yeah but he was your ex so you were wishing different things...like "I wonder if he changed his life insurance beny?" Just kidding, honestly. Just a little humor to lighten the subject, it's gotten kinda of heavy...

Yes I'm guilty as well of it...

Hey you guys Im glad this thread got you thinking about being careful. I was absolutely terrified of the bike before I rode with Keith. But I got on with him because he earned my trust and I knew that he loved me and would not do anything to harm me. He was the best rider I know, always careful but this happened to him. Just be careful out there ya'll! Ill never get on one again :( If you want to know what happened in Keith's accident there's the description on about page 4 or 5 of the sport bike hype thread. He was a good driver but as you all know enexpected things come up and you have to make split second decisions.

Anyway, on to the update. I saw him yesterday for the first time and I feel like he's here and he's working on coming back. He reacts when you talk and none of us believe it's what they say is "lower brain stem response" He had tears come out of his eyes and would grip my hand as I talked to him. I spent an hour with him and I feel like he knows its me and he's fighting to come back. I went to see him today as well and though I literally only got 1 minute with him, I have good news. When I walked up to talk to him his fist was clenched and I said "Keith you need to open your hand so I can hold it" and KEITH RELAXED HIS HAND! I feel he's making tremendous progress, so please keep those prayers coming. His family is deeply touched by the strong show of support from the bike community. A group of riders from a christian sport bike forum tat never met him came to see him and that meant a lot his family. So please keep up they prayers and support and as always wear your gear!!

Jenn is it. Glad to hear the update. Keep your hopes up and we'll keep the prayers up. Don't listen to them on their "lower brain stem" crapola. They always say that, so that you don't get your hopes up. Screw what they say. They told Roger's wife the same thing and we all know that he's going to pull thru.

If I was in that area, I would so be there to visit him!

I talked to him on the other forum a few times, seems like a cool guy. Sorry, that really sucks. I'm glad things are going as well as they can at this point, though.

Just a quick update, Keith is attempting to open his eyes, they open partially when he's in discomfort but also in response to people he cares about. Every day seems to get better, first it was only a little, now even more and he has even moved his eyes toward someone as they entered the room. Several nurses and technicians have commented that the signs all mentioned in the blog (moving his arm and hand, making faces, responding to pain, responding to people, turning his thumb up upon command for the nurses etc) are all signs that he is "coming out of it" I have seen all of this first hand and I see progress and my heart is lifted by his strength!! Please continue to pray for him, we believe he's one of a kind and he will overcome this. Thanks!
