After reading about Roz's post, it made me think of this one about Kevin. Just a few days ago, Kevin's mom stopped updating the Blog. He is still in the hospital or care center and not shown to much improvement. Just incase some one reads this and has no clue, Kevin was in a bike accident and has been in the hospital for over the last 9 months and has not had to much improvement in his condidtion. Just last week his grandfather died after a triple bypass I beleive it was.
Reading things like this always make me think about my family. I have been riding for a very long time on 2 wheels. 14yrs. Thats half my life. I have 2 great and wonderful boys I see everyday and love every minute of it. There is not a minute that goes by when I go riding that they are not in my mind and I am thinking about them. I can not begin to understand what it would be like if something would every happen to me and I didn't get to see them again weither it be on 2 wheels or in a car.
Here we are in the riding season and things like this is going to happen. Nothing is going to stop it from happening. We will read about it everyday. What I don't want to read about is someone from TWF that this has happened to. When you go out and ride; ride safe and ride smart. If theres a no helmet law in your state, wear it anyways. You don't need to look cool riding around without one on. Even if you are going 2 miles from the home and just getting something from the store...put it on. More accidents happen within the first mile of your home then anywhere.
We all for the most part have protective gear. We talk about it everyday on here. Some of us can't stress enough how important it is to wear it at all times. If you haven't been down, you will be. I am not trying to be a smart ass on that statement, but its true. There are riders who have been down and then there are riders that haven't been down YET.
Lets be smart about all of this. Thoses companys out there are not making and selling all of this protective wear just for looks. Its to help save and protect us when we go down. Be the smarter rider. Get your gear if you don't already have it and wear it if you own it already at all times. :dthumb:
