I hate deer. One of these bastards decided to run out in front of me this morning on RT. 322 here in Harrisburg on my way to work. :cursin: And this sucker was a big fugging deer. :damn: He caught my passenger side front corner. Smashed my grill, my turnsignal, and pushed my bumper back a few inches.

Obviously this could have been much worse, but that doesn't make me feel much better about the situation. I'm debating calling my insurance. I dont know how much my deductable is but it's certainly more than I want to pay at this point. :cursin: Goddammit. I'm so pissed off.

And to make things worse, it's monday and I was a mile from my exit. F*CK! :bash:

Its not a big deal... its not a collision deductable... its a comp... "act of god" most comp deducts are $100 or usually not more than $200. Which can easily be soaked into your claim by the shop. Furthermore, it is shown as a "not your fault" incident. Just claim it! :2cents:

Oh, and that sucks too! :cursin:

Not so fast there...hitting a deer costs more than you realize...If you claim it on your insurance, your car will get fixed, but the report will hang with your car and you will get hit with "diminished value" when you go to sell or trade your car. When M hit the deer back on Valentine's day coming home from work...we got the car fixed, you could not tell it had been hit, but when the dealer ran the "car fax" or whatever company they used, the report came up and we lost 2500 bucks trade in for the "diminished Value". Every dealer we spoke to before we bought the new car in August, told us the same thing. If you report it, it will cost you...

This diminished value BS is almost as good a scam as that "gap" insurance.

Its getting cooler and that's when the deer star running crazy. Everybody that lives where deer are in large quantizes should be careful.
I watch the shoulder almost as much as I watch the road in the dusk and down hours. They don't seem to be as bad to run out after dark.

Yeah, watch out here in PA. The hunters are starting to move them around and they are coming into rut. This time of year the deer act like a bunch of horny teenagers. Saw an article in the paper where a buck smashed through the front window of a grocery store in Reading and ran around for an hour before they tranquilized him. Clean-up, ilse 13!

It doesn't always show up on Carfax. My wife had a deer commit suicide into our '91 Park Ave 2 years ago. Smashed grill and just bent the front of the hood down an inch. $2500 worth of damage. State Farm came out and looked at it and said " classic deer accident". I had the deer hair from the car saved ( to prove it was a deer ) but they didn't want to see it. Cut me a check on the spot and we got it fixed.

I ran a carfax before I sold the car two months ago and it didn't show up. Here's the info if you want to do it yourself
'91 Buick Park Ave
VIN 1G4CW53LXM1605282

Glad to hear you're OK. If the deer would have come up over the hood it could have been tragically different :angelhap:

I'm with ya 73... screw that and get it fixed via insurance! Most people don't do that carfaxcra*ola!
I have to disagree. Most car dealers use it for a selling point if its good. If its not. They will dodge the subject.
