One time on my 86 Ninja 1000R had car stop in front of me for no reason :rant: on city street. Hit painted stripe in roadway slid under car :sob: No damage to car or me :crazy: Picked bike up drove back home, ordered fairing replacement parts.

One thing nice about ninja 1000R fairing, only middle section got taken out when down. Cost $120 painted at time

Never down in the rain but, way back in 1988, I did crash my new GSXR in the SNOW. :screwy:
It was on the ride home from work and at the time my pickup was broken and the bike was the only transportation I had. I couldn't afford to fix the truck and make bike payment. I wasn't going to lose my bike or bad mark my credit.

It started snowing while at work but nothing on the roads. I called my neighbor and he said it was snowing hard but nothing on the roads. I headed home and almost made it the 45 minute trip. About 4 miles from the house the roads started to get slushy. I hit a dip in the road and the bike slammed me on the pavement. (no warning) I was alright, had lots of gear on in 20 degree temp. I may have been going 25mph. Trashed the whole right side and new Kirker pipe. (damn that thing was loud)

Dropped the bike in a parking lot one time.... was making a turn to back into a parking place and my inside foot hit a painted line and slipped out from under me... the good thing was that the bike went down slow and landed on my leg which save any scratchs.... it wasn't my most shining moment..ya know... :lol:

I've had the front end slide out in oil and gravel, but no rain crashes thank you.

I was knocked down on the track in the rain by someone that lost it and his bike slid into 3 of us knocking us down like bowling pins :here: ...but never lost it in the rain, even racing in it. been sideways a lot but never hit the pavement except for that one time ..

I hit a little antifreez & went down . One second everything is fine next thing I know I'm sliding on the right side . Went back to see what i hit , could barily see it but it was slick as ice .All was good only bent rear brake pedal , scratches on muffler ,small hole in plastic. 6 years ago so all is good new . :dthumb:

Why were you follfowing so close? If there was enough room between the two of you a situation like that would never happen. And being a city street you couldn't have been going too fast I would think. Sucks though.
