Hi guys, looking to pick up an 05' Super bike, looking at the GSXR1K, R1, CBR1000RR. I would appreciate any objective info on the most comfortable bike to log miles on. They are all incredibly fast and agile and looks are not that important. I wnat to haul ass but I want a decent seating position, smooth power delivery and minimal bar/peg buzz. And no I'm not considering anything other than a supersport. TIA for thoughtful responses.

Not sure about the '05 but Twisty's '04 GSXR 1K feels pretty comfy. Not sure about long distance but it has a good seating position!

I should have added, I rode 100+ miles almost every seating on the GSXR 1000. I made several trips to Atlanta and back in a day.(350 miles) Its a Sport bike so there are others better suited for the task. :2cents:

I'd say the 05 gixxer is much more comfortable then the 04...ergo's are better, at least they feel better for me (I'm 6'5). What they're saying (mags) is the ZX10R is the worst of the 1000cc's for ergo's but when I sat on them at the MC show, I felt comfortable. So, you really just have to go sit on them and try them out. Try and find a dealer that deals in all or most of the models. I've also heard that the 04/05 R10 is a little less of an agressive seating position then past models and that seemed to be true when sitting on it. At the end of the day...we're all different makes and models and have to find the bike that WE like. As Gas said, the 04 gixxer is pretty good ergo's...........I think it sucks...personally. In a nutshell, try em all out.

i will agree kawi are def really high up in the arse. i would go with a honda for comfort. of coarse if you ask me there all race bikes and not cruisers so there all about the same. now the zx12r and the busa are alot more comfy riding positions.

Thanks guys. My initial impression is that I like the CBR1000RR the best, but I have owned both a 99' R1 and an 01' GSXR 1000. Both the R1 and teh GSXR have been substantially changed and though I may find the "at rest" position of the Honda to be accomodating, I'm not sure if that translates into the smooth riding and most comfortable bike once you get moving. I really do appreciate the input though, it is helpful.

It would nice to get the GSXR as its' the newest iteration of the three bikes, but if it were clear to me that the Honda or the R1 were a bit smoother or more comfy to ride I could go either way.

Hey Eric, I suspect I will have a bike in a few weeks. It will be good to be back. :dthumb:

Douge... the older '01 GSXR's were horrible for ergos which is another reason I didn't buy one in '02... but the newer style '04's are really comfortable... I was suprised when I sat on Twisty's... I view the 10R's much like the GSXR's back then in '01-'02... they concentrated on making it aggresive... then they'll get back to praticality once they make their mark for a year or two...

Don't listen to Chev too much.. he's like 8ft tall!!! So unless you're a big guy, he's in his own little world...
