How often do you take your motorcycle off the ground? I am not a wrenchhead, my bike will pretty much stay stock save for a few visual modifications. should I invest in those fork and swingarm stands?

What are your thoughts?

I don't know how you can own a bike without them!!!

Get a complete set. Pit Bulls are the best but you can also get a set of cheap Handy stands for about $100. The PB's are going to run like $200-$300 for the set.

Yeah lubing your chain without a swing arm stand or at least a center stand WOULD HAVE TO SUCK!!

I seriously used my stands almost every other day. I would put the entire bike up even when washing it. Washing the wheels is so much nicer when up!

Not owning a complete set is just

First pic is my first set... a basic set of Lockhart Phillips. A flat bracket universal swing arm stand and a front fork stand.

The others pics is the most recent setup I had before I sold it all... bike and stands... Pit Bull flat & spool swing arm stand and a front steering head stand.

here's some of my friends new front stand, he's got an adjustable PitBull rear stand, but I'm not sure who makes this front stand.

Edit>>> I see the front stand is a PitBull also.:dthumb:

 i just never look at the pic that close...he just sent me the pics last night.... He lives 600 miles away so I haven't see the front stand in person yet.
I need him to send me pics of his roommates SV1000. He dropped his bike like 3 times in a row a few weeks ago and damaged the fairings, mirrors, bars, windscreen and a few other things. Just pulling it out of the garage! Man I swear his rommie is a dummie! He's been riding a long time too.

:iagree: Absofreakinlutely. When my boyfriend said he wanted to get the Pitbulls, I was like, "Why?" but they've proved absolutely indispensable.

The first time you clean and lube your chain with the rear stand, you'll pat yourself on the back for getting them.

Doesn't anyone hold their bike up on the kickstand while your buddy spins the tire and sprays the chain anymore???
 ...that was pre-Pit Bull though! Oh, and Gas Man, I'll be needing to speak with you regarding the teardown on the ZX9 front end, ...eventually. :readng:

Anytime!! Its really EASY!!! Here's a pic of another teardown. I swear I've had that bike down more times than I can remember. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help!

On the stands... I speak the truth. The whole truth. The PitBulls are the absolute best stands I have EVER seen!

Granted the Handy Stands are a great deal and work perfectly! However, I can not speak highly enough about the PitBulls and always having a set of stands on hand.

And by the pic you can also see that sometimes you even need a MC lift. The biggest catch on those with full fairing sport bikes is that...the fairings. That's why I don't suggest those for the "non-naked" sportbikes!

Yeah after I sold my Pit Bulls I purchased a really nice alum. lift from Sears. But then again, i don't own a sportbike anymore.
That lift will come in handy with the chopper. Nice flat frame to use it on too.

I have a set of stands to sale cheap if interested.
