I seen on CNN today that Piggly Wiggly is using Biometrics in their stores now.

Biometrics is where they use your finger print or eye scan or voice scan to dientify who you are.

You can go into the Piggly Wiggly (a grocery store) and setup your index finger on this computer with your credit card/debit card/checking account info. Then when you go thru the check out to buy something, you just slap your finger on this reader and it is just as you whipped out the card or wrote a check.

Way easier and faster...but what do you guys think of this???

That's always been my take on Piggly Wiggly...a run down store. I've been in them down south and they haven't been anything special....more like a dumpy store....something like you might find in FLINT!!!!!! Anyway, I hate the idea. What's coming next is you'll have to scan your finger print everywhere and eventually it will become a way for the government to track our every move....I'm totally against it.

I like the technology. My brother-in-law has a biometric lock on this house. To get in, he "authenticates" his fingerprint. Very cool stuff.

Publix has the best fresh produce and Winn Dixie has the best meat. Food Lion is basically out of business here and most of the stores are being bought out by Harveys. CVS has bought Eckerds. As for your side note, it was 65 and sunny this afternoon...At least it sucks having a tan, eh?

The idea's ok, but I would never use it. I mean the technology is awesome, and it's the best way to prevent identity theft, but I'm not going to give out any more info about myself than I have to. The government already has too much power. And eventually I'm sure some genious is going to find a way to hack into it, and next thing you know, you're being framed for murder. up here..Food Lion is the ghetto mart... they tried bringing a few of them to york and the surrounding areas..but they are all gone as far as I know..
