i was riding with a couple guys from work today and we were cruisin at like a hundered mph and my buddies rear tire blew out. i didn't realize he wasn't behind me for a few miles until the other guy pulls up next to me and points back to show me jay wasn' there. we quickly pulled over and this one cager pulled over to let us know that jay's tire blew out and that he was fine. it was real cool for that guy to do that. so we turned around and met up with him. his tire had a big hole in it. it looked like it just blew out because there was holes all over the left side. i told him it could have been A LOT worse. My room mate came out and we put it in the truck and took off. we were on our way to this 100 mile loop with a lot of twisties. oh well, at least he is still around to try it next weekend. any of you guys ever had a blow out while riding?

Glad it wasn't the front tire. I think Matt (N4S) had a front tire blowout awhile back. Glad to hear you're friend is doing fine. I've never had a blowout, and hope to never have one.

WOW. Good to hear nothing bad happened at thoses speeds with a blow out like you describe. No blow out story like that but there was this time I ate to many bean burritos. :D

And I think N4S was on his old bike a while back. Way back? I think.

Hit a nail with the rear tire on my Suzuki which uses tubes. The bike acts like it's drunk. I first thought the axle or chain had come loose. Luckily I wasn't going fast. Same happened on my Honda, but with tubeless tires it is a slow deterioration of handling. You feel a wobble when leaning from one side to the other. With a centerstand it's easy to check the rear tire, and I check the pressure more often now.

I blew a rear at 65 mph on the interstate. Not much fun at all, the rear almost passed the front a couple of times. I check my tires before every ride now, because i didnt listen to a buddy who told me mine was shot before we started.

No blowouts....fortunately. I went to ride the bike one time and the back tire was flat.... like jeeps says....now I always check before I get on the bike. Especially if the bike has sat for any length of time.
