So you are out riding with a buddy, carving up the back roads on the way back from a long ride. It's late at night, not too much traffic on the road.
A car comes around a corner, straddling the center line, and sideswipes your buddy. It wasn't a head-on hit, but you have no idea if your buddy was injured, at least slightly, when his bike skidded off into the grassy ditch at 35+ mph.
The car doesn't even slow down, and there are no witnesses. You have a cell phone, what do you do?
a) stay with your buddy, make sure he's ok, and call for help.
b) chase down the car and get a plate number, then return to your buddy.
