J.J. Rorex struggles to hold up his 90-pound Bighead Carp caught June 2. The fish is likely to become a new "All Tackle" World Record. Rorex say he caught the beast on 20-pound Berkley Trilene Big Game line, a 7-foot Lamiglas heavy action rod and Okuma Induron 250 LX reel. click photo to enlarge
JJ Rorex is a Chattanooga fireman proudly serving the city at Firehall #14 in St. Elmo. Given the slightest amount of opportunity, firemen are well-known for giving each other large doses of grief around the firehall.
I'm betting that his firefighting friends will soon have a new nickname for Rorex… something along the lines of "Carp Catcher."
But if the guys giving him grief are fishermen, they'll probably be jealous as well. Rorex may soon achieve something every angler dreams of. It appears at this point that Rorex will soon lay claim to the World Record Bighead Carp.
