Yeah, I always wondered about that... because if I can't haul my bike it isn't a truck!!! That's another reason why I hate truck bed caps!!! :puke:

My Hubby said the bed is 5 feet one inch and if you're bike is bigger than that it won't fit. But he said if you put the midgate down that will give you an 8ft bed and the front tire should be able to fit. I don;t know if that really helped or not, but I figured I'd ask him for you since we have an Av. :)

Forget the bike....why would you buy an Avalanche???? If you like that "look" why not check the Honda Ridgeline. At least buy from a company thats not going down the toilet. LOL Otherwise go with a "real" truck like the Gas Man's F-150 FX4. The Avalanche has more plastic than your bike....and thats just WRONG! :screwy:

How do you like it?

Gas Man - The Avalanche is offered in a non-cladded version "WBH" or Without Body Hardware $600 delete option.

Shan, I don't mind the Avalanche... that was Ace...but I feel his pain... and I love my truck... it F'in rocks!!!

Charlie, you can always drop the tailgate over the midgate....that is the important thing that Shan is trying to address....

Shan, you have one of these? If so, just drop the tailgate...put the SV up in there and try it out!!! Then let us know!

Wow where to start. Who in their right mind would EVER buy an import pickup truck, i mean come on you must be joking. I do agree with you saying the F-150 is a "real" truck, however i have to dissagree with your coment about buying from a company not going down the toilet. GM is probably the most financialy sound out of the big 3.

all that aside, i can't say that i'm a big fan of the avalanche. with or without GM's imfamous grey plastic. Me personally would rather have a crew cab.

The Avalanche is going to be my next vehicle I am going to get. And it will have Body Hardware. :dthumb:
x2.. the body armour just rocks.. makes it look straight outta Escape from LA  ..but really though, the Av's are the Hottest looking truck around. PERIOD.

How many feet does dropping the tailgate give you? probably adds a couple feet right? might be just enough for your SV.

The Ridgeline is sweet. I looked at them a few days ago... Great mileage compared to the American made sh!t and I dont have to pay money to the union dumb a$$'s. :loser:

I looked at the AV, among others...I had a Chevy ext cab 2500 I pulled trailers with literally coast to coast, so I gave the AV a serious look...I bought a Dakota Quad cab because it was half the price...I was out the door with even a tag for under 19K...It has air, power, cruise, cd and my bike will fit in the back. But, I have a trailer to haul motorcycles...much easier to load and unload with a 12" ramp to the ground

We don't have the Av with the body cladding on it. So our truck isn't ALL plastic... We happen to LIKE our AVALANCHE Z71, thank you very much! (And I guess I won't mention that I drive a Trailblazer.) (NOTE: We get alittle defensive about our vehicles, so don't pay any attention to the sarcasm.)

I was just simply trying to post a little bit of input. I didn't comprehend ALL of the original post, so I'm sorry. But in any case, If you drop the tailgate it would give you an extra two feet. So the midgate doesn't necessarily have to be down. So if my posts were not helpful, again, sorry.

Pssssttt...Gas Man...Nice truck by the way!! You sound a lot like my hubby. He LOVES the 8 engine and the 4x4.
