many of ur manufacturers of gloves make them in several different colors..but remember, black goes with everything.
Nice thread that Matt showed you. However, the best way to get the gloves right for you is to go and try some on. You need them to feel right for you. We all are going to have an opinion on what we like best but what you are going to like may not be the same as we like. Try some on and let us know what you get.

And welcome to TWF. Glad you signed up. :dthumb:
i have tried some at a bike's shop, but they have limited amount of gloves. I have tried on some joe rocket, alpine star, icon (i dont know the specific name). the joe rocket feels really good, but the color and looks didnt catch my eyes. the alpine star feels really good too, but they didnt have size small and i didnt wanna order one. The icon materials just didnt look right to me. I just went to that website speedrag.com and saw that the stunter X are nice... but i dont think my bike shop (near my house) has them. I dont wanna order online bcuz i dont wanna wait and if the size doesnt fit me, that gonna takes longer to exchange. Hmmm, most of the gloves are available online, but i just dont want to bcuz i have had a bad experience of ordering a pair of gloves online...and i had to wait like 1 month for everything to be resolved.
its hard to order gloves online unless u know ur exact size...if you have any friends who have gloves that you like, try their's on, and u'll get an idea of what fits and what doesnt...but all manufacs make a rainbow of colors..the rockets that DJ got, came in black, blue, red, and gray, and that was just at the shop we went to.
I understand as well about the buying online. It is hard to know if its going to be the right thing or not. As Matt said, try on one of your friends gloves and go from there. You said you were looking for a pair with blk and red in it. here are 2 that are in that color and are joe rocket. I have the blue and blk ones and love them.
Try to make sure to get Gauntlet style if you can ( the kind that go well over the wrist) and wear your jacket when you try them on, make sure you sleeves fit tucked into the gloves.
if you can swing it, its really good to get both styles of gloves, the gauntlet style offer excellent protection, but for everyday city riding, and in warmer weather these work great as well.

Welcome to the site!

Be very careful when choosing gloves. I'm an XL in Joe Rocket but XXL in Alpinestar. If you can, try em on first. If not, order a couple sizes online and send back the ones that don't fit.
If you can hold out, find out when the CW motorcycle show is in your area this year... sure its nice to go look at all the bikes available, but the real nice part is you can try on just about every piece of gear available to motorcyclists...

Before you worry about cool or color, remember what they are for! If you go down, you want all your appendages protected. Find the pair that fit you the best that will protect fingers, hand and wrist. Worry about poser issues like color or having a cool name later

I second that one. :dthumb: Good thinking.
Very true! But I strongly recommend against buying anything that you haven't tried on. I have did it in the past and got lucky but it's not a good idea!!
get the most high-end glove that you could afford

almost all gloves with rip a part if you slide on them

when you crash, use your forarm and elbow to keep your self up when sliding
gut instinct for me atleast, is to try and put my palms down to break my fall..so gotta have good padding on the palms too!

I'm using my butt when I crash to help me. LOL That may make me bounce a bit. :dthumb:
ordering a couple of pairs and return the ones that dont fit sound like a good idea, but doesnt it costs u money to return the shipping? hehehe... i just bought a pair of Frank Thomas Air Rage Glovesfor 130 bucks. It has a wrist protection, red, black, a little bit of silver color. i dont know if this brand is good, but the saler told me he is wearing a pair too. i duno how to post a pix up, so here is a link that has the pix of the gloves.... i still can return them if they're bad in recommendations (from yall :)) http://www.johnsofromford.co.uk/gloves.htm it's the first top left corner ones, it shows in blue, but i have mine in red.
ask and ye shall receive.. if they work for you, thats all that matters, most people have more than 1 one set anyways, so if u need them,u'll have them..but either way, that fact that you have gloves to wear to keep ur hands intact, is the main part.

This is a stated thing I believe, not one from expierence. I wish Twisty was here to comment but my :2cents: will have to do.

When I went down with the deer thing! I was thrown, and rolled and 3 things happened.

1. My head/helmet never touched the ground.
2. My elbows & forearms touched the ground but only barely.
3. It didn't suck as much I you would think!
