choppertown

thanks for the support...we also think this site is great, and we know most here are not chopper riders but we love motorcycles and we think everyone here can understand the two wheeled life style. even my cousin in New York is starting to dig chops...a pic of him below. I think by now he forgot i taught him how to ride when he was 5. lol

Wait a second, I'm confused. He understands that that yellow thing he is riding is not a "chopper" right? He also realizes that little maneuver he is doing is relatively impossible on a chopper, especially a custom chopper where they have this funny tendancy to not install front brakes? You know, "front brakes" those little caliper devices which do the majority percentage of your actual brakeage and prevent you from filing an insurance claim? And when you were teaching him to ride, did you instruct him on the fundamental importance of wearing some protective gear such as a helmet and a jacket! Don't get me wrong, I'm not criticizing his current choice of protective outerwear, I mean the black wife beater is very fashionable.

This movie already has me worried. I think it has "Torque" written all over it. I think hell will freeze over before one movie is released that is not a complete embarassment to the cycling community. I think I won't even start saving my pennies for this movie, I may just go watch Spongebob's new movie instead.

Ooopppsssss, sorry, I thought that was my quiet voice; "good luck with your movie, nice pics on you website, next time you and your bud's go speeding down a dirt road, you should really wear a helmet, it will keep the dust out of your hair."

thanks for your thoughts. choppertown is a documentary film about a group of bikers. there are no actors and it was filmed over a period of three months inorder to capture their way of life. essentially it's about bike building and brotherhood. as for my cuz on the yellow rocket, he wears full gear when he goes out to ride as we all should. and for spongebob...yes, it looks great! :) S & Z

I'm just tired of the "look at me I’m cool movies and TV shows". Jesse "The sellout" James started it and now look at the sh!t we have to watch. Just so they can get rich off bullsh1t like this, next year I’m making a movie. My whole life will be captured on video. I’m sure it is more interesting than "Choppertown" or "American Chopper" I mean who wants to see to fat, pompase arses go at it everyday. What was that dumb sportbike show on MTV about? I can remember but I want that 1 hour of my life back... I want to make a real movie about real riders and not this chezzy bull crap that everyone is trying to betray bikes as these hardcore people. Trust me, in the motorcycle world there are tons and tons of wantabes and they are the ones with the money to make sh!t arse movies and shows that we are forced to swallow like the fat filled chesse burgers and Mickey D's. I’m so tired of the horse sh!t. This movie will be crap just like every attempt at any motorcycle movie has been. I’m done with this tread now....

I hate wantabee's with to much time and money. How about you use that cash to buy some more chrome for you bikes.

It will be called "WOS" What motorcycling is really about.

well, it's funny twister, because we are actually thinking along the same lines as you. After reading your post I realized you may have not looked into our website deep enough to see that this is not a film with actors, or scripted lines...this is also can't be shown on Discovery because it is uncensored. We did not cut out the beer drinking, the cursing we even left in the fight. Like you we are sick of the way "Hollywood" portrays bikes/bikers or even the way discovery made them look. This Documentary film is about Old Skool rides so we know it may not appeal to everyone, but what you see is exactly how they live. We followed the Sinner motorcycle club around for 4 months and shot them building a new bike. During that time we captured their life style, their personalities, as well as their antics. On top of all that my business partner and I have been riding all our lives so it helps for the filmaker to have some idea of what he is shooting. LOL but actually I think you still might be bent out of shape about your insurance so make sure you don't ride in bad weather. ride hard, S & Z :dthumb:

ps - we hope you will enjoy the film

each of their bikes are unique in some way, but they follow the old skool of thought. They like the 50's / 60's style choppers/bobbers. They build their bikes to ride and with little flash. They don't like the $100,000 chopper that onely sees 5 miles of road with a 250 rear tire. (OCC and WCC) They like it simple and most times their paint jobs are just black or grey primer. All their bikes kick start, they're hardtails (no ear shock), no blinkers, no front brakes and a lot of them suicide shifts like the old bikes from the 40s. They are well built though and most of them are built for under $8,000. the parts come from junk yards or swap meets. They stick by another old school of thought, if you don't have a part you make it. They are not rich so the bikes they build are considered a "working man's" bike. this style actually falls under "Kustom Kulture". You will see this in the hot rod world as well...chop top mercs with flat black paint. it started after wwII...after the soldiers returned they wanted their heavy harleys a little faster and more simple like the European bikes. So, they would cut the back fender (that is called Bobbing hence the term Bobber) and remove anything that is not really needed. this style is also very popular in europe as well as Japan. hope this helped, S & Z

To be correct "This style is called Ratting" my Grandpa was part of the "RAT Culture" when he returned from the war. He had the few "RAT" cars. Again to be correct it is called "Ratting". But hey what do I know. Alto "BOBBER" is a word he used before, so I will give you that.

I did some checking on Kustom Kulture on the web and found that is like new age Ratting. I,m kinda pissed that they stole the Rat Fink, but money can buy you anything. I found it to use different color paint scheme's and trick customs unlike Ratting were the car is simple and usually a matte color not bright green with flames. Search "Rat Cars" on the web and you will find the true meaning.Kustom Kulture may be the new age of ratting but often we find the new cant copy the old. I do think alot of the cars are sweet tho. I'm not into "boat anchor" bikes but I a few days after you movie comes out it, I will be able to download it on the web (for free)and tell you what I think. :skep:
