I had made some posts on this forum regarding a couple of different topics, and a couple times received comments about refering to the "Cliff's Notes" version; I know that bandwidth is expensive, and brevity is considered virtuous, BUT: when I try to write an article or a response I attempt to be as accurate as possible, as well as either showing HOW I arrived at my info, or the logical process for coming to a given conclusion.

I'm very old school, in that I was taught that opinions without a basis are valueless; so if I drag on, I apologise. I try to be as succinct as possible, and still provide a basis for thought and rebuttal.

I don't want to get the nickname "Ol' Windy", but sometimes there is no other way to accurately describe a phenomena, or to show the basis for a given opinion or way of thinking. If I bore the other members of this board, I am sorry, but know no other way.

Respectfully submitted,

OTB

When you get that crap. Its usually done in fun and or by somebody that really doesn't even care about what you saying. :whore:

Keep up the good post. Those of us that might find it helpful, appreciate the extra time you spend explaining your theory. :dthumb:

Or you get me that just reads sooo many posts and the longer ones just make the time to :whore: longer... no harm no foul!

And Bee... the "Windy" nickname was from my 9R getting blown over in a t-storm... hence "Windy"... people started calling me that...but I thought of the bike more named as Windy and not me... oh well....

here i thought people wanted cliff's notes to OTB's posts because they used too many big words or complex ideas, not for the length. it was to simplify, right? if so, perhaps he should know that. he always makes really good points, but it is like reading shakespeare at times, kinda goes over my head.

I haven't been here long enough to know if you are a wind bag or not, but truly it's rather simple to tell a "condensed" version of a story that gives just as much detail. Just remember, that the ones making those types of comments are the ones that become shocked, confused and bewildered by mere street sign.
