I posted this for Snakemann since he is out with some buddies from Texas on his southern mid-west tour. He started in Texas, ventured into Oklahoma and when I spoke to him yesterday, he was in Hot Springs...Get home safely Snakemann...
Texas surprises top-seeded Tulane
Texas set a record with its 75th College World Series win Monday night, riding the strong pitching of Kyle McCullough to a 5-0 victory over top-seeded Tulane.
In its fourth straight and record 32nd appearance overall at the CWS, Texas passed Southern California's mark of 74 victories.
The Longhorns, unbeaten in two games so far this year, advance to a Wednesday night game at Rosenblatt Stadium against the winner of Tuesday night's Tulane-Baylor elimination game.
Texas (53-16) scored two in the first off Tulane's top lefty, Brian Bogusevic, added two more in the fifth and another in the sixth, while collecting 12 hits.

Baylor ends Oregon State's historic run
Baylor extended its first College World Series appearance in 27 years by at least one day with a 4-3 victory in 10 innings over Oregon State on Monday.
Mike Pankratz, batting .193, blooped an RBI single over first baseman Andy Jenkins and just out of the reach of second baseman Chris Kunda, ending the Beavers' first appearance in the CWS since 1952.
The Bears (45-23) advanced to a Tuesday matchup against the loser of Monday night's game between Texas and Tulane.

Baylor's three-run ninth ousts top-seeded Tulane
Baylor simply refused to leave the College World Series.
The Bears, down 7-0 after six innings, rallied for three runs in the ninth Tuesday night, scoring the winning run on a throwing error by Tulane second baseman Joe Holland to stun and eliminate the top-seeded Green Wave 8-7.
One out after reliever Brandon Gomes issued an intentional walk to load the bases, Baylor's Paul Witt hit a hopper to Holland near the bag at second.
Holland touched the base for the second out of the inning. But his relay throw to complete a double play that would have ended the game and given Tulane the win went past first baseman Michah Owings.
The tying run scored and then so did a jubilant Zach Dillon from third with the winner as the ball got away.

Arizona State rally leaves Huskers heartbroken
Arizona State star Jeff Larish tied a College World Series record Tuesday with three homers in a game, including a game-tying blast with two outs in the bottom of the ninth, as the Sun Devils eliminated Nebraska with a thrilling 8-7 victory.
The Sun Devils won it on J.J. Sferra's RBI single in the bottom of the 11th.
Larish tied the record set by J.D. Drew of Florida State against Southern California in 1995 and matched by Edmund Muth of Stanford against Louisiana-Lafayette in 2000.
The left-handed hitting Larish homered to left in the first, to right in the third and then to center with two outs in the ninth, lifting Arizona State into a 7-7 tie with Nebraska in an elimination game.
