It's no different than when you hit the brakes and compress the forksShanMan14 said:Is it safe to crank down on straps when your transporting a bike? Is there a risk of damage to the front forks by doing this?
I like the link better! :drool:Nine29 said:Or you could buy a Strapless Transport Stand.
That's because its a antique! :lol:Gas Man said:Nine...those look nice... but I don't get why they don't list my 9R. It looks like it's just a long bolt/axle that would go thru your existing rear axle.... have you used one before?
Gas Man, I don't know. You should call Troy Green, the owner/inventor and ask if he can make an axle rod for your bike. The concept of the stand is great...no tiedowns, canyon dancers, or chocks. I have one (that's mine in the pics)and my bike never budges...Gas Man said:Nine...those look nice... but I don't get why they don't list my 9R. No more than GM does from the dents my wife keeps putting in her leased Envoy!Gas Man said:Yeah it sure looks nice... but I haul mine in my truck bed and I would have to mount those brackets to the bed... do you think Ford's would like that when I turn in my lease?
Add that!Gas Man said:Yeah it sure looks nice... but I haul mine in my truck bed and I would have to mount those brackets to the bed... do you think Ford's would like that when I turn in my lease? Not too mention with my crew cab, I'm not sure I can do it... I think** that my back tire will be right on the edge of the bed and the tailgate..
**As I haven't loaded my bike on my newer truck yet... got the truck in the late fall and haven't had to load MY bike in there yet. Loaded a WOS guys TL1000R in there and the tire was actually totally on the bed but it hung over the tailgate so that you couldn't close the tailgate.... does that all make sense?
