Crashed and us medical costs?

I high-sided and broke my collar bone, yesturday pacific raceways in seattle. Had to take the ambulance to the hospital.

How much the does the usual ambulance ride cost?
or a 2 hour visit in the hospital for 3 x-rays?

i'm from canada and its so much cheaper here that its totally not comparable.

Dont you get free health care in Canada? Anyways glad you are ok (aside from the broken collar bone). Ambulence bill where im from will run around $500 and then the hospital will sink its teeth in you too. Curious though how did it happen and what gear were you wearing at the time? Also can you post a pick of your bike?

:yikes: that is no good man.

Glat to hear you're ok. Get us some pics of you and your bike... cause you know this will keep popping up till you do...

As far as ambulance rides... I have no idea...have always had insurance...and of coarse here in the US the medical in any aspect is always 3 times the cost that it should be... maybe gas is just following suit.

Its almost free. The track was wet at the time and i was coming out of the last turn. I didn't even notice the backend slipped. I was a instant high-side that through me into the air and landed on my shoulder with a dead stop.

It happened so fast. This was my 5th crash and it was much faster, as in avalible time to respond than any of my other crashess. When it happened, i didn't notice the slide but i was like **** my ass is vertically in the air with me still hanging onto the bars.

No pictures yet. i'm too pissed off to see the bike since i just fixed it last month for a 12'o'clock crash.
Dent in the tank, fiberglass held well and case cover done.

I have heard that about the collar bone. Glad to hear you're ok.

Get us pics when you get a chance...
i'll take a pic of some rash from the crash. Weird thing is that my leathers were fine but i actually got rashed from the leathers itself.

I'll get more when, i shower later. Too much work removing the t shirt i'm wearing.

Ambulance has cost me $250 before and a recent e-room visit for my kid that broke his ankle was billed at $500 before they sent to the insurance. The e-room doctor was another charge don't know how much it was. And the x-rays are usually billed separate too. You should be able to talk with them and get a discount for no insurance and payment arangements.

Glad your OK. I don't think there is any gear you can where to protect the colar bone, it kind of sucks.

:here: Its very important. The collar bone controls/stabilizes every movement of the arm.
