Did you break any bones?
No pics..but back in the day, after about 6 months experience of riding, I was on a Rebel 450, going down US RT 30, heading from York, towards Lancaster...I did pre-trip, like always of course, and everything was good to go. Wearing a lid, leather jacket jeans, and sneakers..no gloves. Doing about 70 MPH, and begin to notice the front end is real stiff, and I cant turn at all, I look down, and here my front tire is completely flat, and flapping on the rim!!! Of course, a curve is coming up, and I can barely turn the front end, and it's starting the shimmy, so I let off the throttle, and quickly begin to slow down, tried the back brake, and that made it worse, so I quickly let off, and realized that Im going down..so I continued to slow, and hit the grass on the side of the rode at about 40 mph, and immediately laid the bike down and kicked away from me as its sliding towards some bushes past the grass. I landed and rolled for about 15-20 or so I think, and bike can to a halt in the bushes. :nonod: Scared out of my mind, but other than I just had a couple bruises on my arm shoulder and thigh.

bike had about 400.00 worth of damage done..since it slid on the grass, only had to replace the signals, saddlebag got messed up, seat needed recovered, and the right foot peg needed replaced, and a new front tire...and a couple reflectors..all in all, it could have been a hell of alot worse.

no, i got very very lucky. was wearin shorts, sandals, tank top and no lid. if i woulda been wearin jeans and shoes , prolly woulda been fine.
the bike on the other hand is gonna make me pay for that mistake. not sure what the damage is gonna cost me, still waiting for prices.

It's always a sick feeling laying down your ride, especially a new one. what all got damaged on your R1 ?
i listed everything earlier, but the forum crashed and lost it.
does that happen often? also , is there any kind of e-mail notification on here?
yeah it crashed me earlier today a couple times..I usually dont have problems in here..seems pretty stable overall from what I can tell. you can set up email notifications about your posts/threads in the USER CP section and also at the bottom of every post you create, (while your creating it) there is a email notification menu. :)
Sorry about the crash - both yours and our server - doesn't happen often but for some reason we hit a glitch today. :(

Must be time to lube the chain on the hampster wheel again. :D

WOW, guy, I guess the posts about throttle control on the yamaha thread didn't help. Maybe this time we should go for that bolt on bolt off wheelie bar. Also, if for no other reason, you'll find that doing crash claims sucks, because they generally take 4-6 weeks ( )at most dealers.....

Not wearin the gear definately doesn't help. You end up lookin like :ack: !I've been down before and the survival w/o the pain is all in the gear. Jeans, gloves, helmet, jacket are a must at any time. Then maybe leather pants as well. Just a few pointers...
