Looking to book a cruise for February. Still throwing around a couple of ideas but would like to hear from those that have been on them and what company they went through, where it left from, where it went too....etc etc and also how was the experience.

Have you checked out http://www.carnival.com/. Every now and then I snoop around the site in hopes that we can get some days alone and take a trip! :dthumb:

I have been on 2, one Eastern Carribien, and one Southern I think...Celebrity was really nice, it is Royal Carribien's "white glove" cruise line, and I also went on one that was just Rayal Carribien, the Celebrity was mush nicer, I like the ones the have as many stops as possible, being stuck on the boat for too long blows...give me a call and I can give you more details if you want...

My sister went a cruise, just last year, thru Carnival, and said she loved it. The service was great, the food was excellent, everyone was very friendly, rooms were cleaned everyday, all the ports were excellent. She did a whole caribbean type deal..Jamaica, The Bamahas, etc.

The cruise line is irrelevant...you need to check out the boat. Cruise ships are not registered in the US and are not subject to our inspections and sanitation laws...that is why you read every year of outbreaks on cruise ships. I have been on several cruises and have been around the industry for many years and all I can say is find the boat and check it out.

I went on a Carnival cruise one time. Never again. They are truly the Wal-Mart of cruise lines. Everything is mediocre. Plus, it's one big non-stop sales pitch from the time you embark until you disembark. They're always trying to get you to open your wallet for SOMETHING. Some sponsored tour. Some crappy underwater cameras. Some terrible pictures. Yada, yada, yada...

Haven't been on a cruise since. I've had a great time at resorts instead.

http://www.bluewaters.net That's where I'm going on my honeymoon in May. Supposed to be WONDERFUL. Top notch service, totally relaxing, and completely pampering all week. :) Best kind of vacation I can think of short of riding... (Unfortunately my fiancee wouldn't allow a motorcycle tour of New Zealand...)

The prices seem to be really good for when we're going so that's a plus.

And yes, that is my son in the avatar......almost 8 months old now.

I've been on Cunard ships several times, baja Mexico once, and the others through the Caribbean. My favorites are leaving from Nassau and hitting various Virgin Islands, going down towards Barbados, etc.

There are tons of nice ships out there. .it's one of those deals where you get what you pay for. But, a cruise is the ultimate vacation pretty much. :dthumb:
