No BMW K1200S into USA until late Spring
BMW built 100 plus bikes for people to beat the crap out of on German race and test tracks. BMW even had internet contests on BMW forums to win free trips to Germany to test BMW K1200S.ShanMan14 said:Any mention as to why?

Few bikes had crankshaft problems. BMW shipped few hundred bikes to USA in September. BMW did the right thing and shipped bikes back to Germany for redesigned cranks.
New manufacture run of BMW K1200S bikes will not be until March 2005
Dealers will be getting display bikes sooner, Probably repaired bikes from first run.
And they don't need batteries...like those electronic gadget gizmos!twisty said:You dont need a bmw for that, they have invented these called maps. They tell you where roads go. I know, i know...It is a crazy concept.
Bumble, BMW's market is not the person who is looking to buy cheap ricer bikes :thumbs:bumblebee said:So what you are saying is they shipped poorly designed junk that would break in the real world...Sounds more like HD every day!! Yeah, I'm gonna run right out and plunk down 20K + for one of those :screwy:

Just like car is car :dthumb: One isnt any better than the otherNeed4Speed750 said:I'd agree that the market for bmw's isnt anywhere near the same market audience as japanese sport bikes. but there's more than 1 japanese bike, sport-tourers if u will, that i'd take over a bmw..but thats just me.
but one isnt any better than the other though.
1st class crap you mean. You know whats so funny. How many kids get excited to sport Touring bike next them in traffic. You bike is boring and I bet 70% of the non riding public but confuse your bike with a harley...I mean boring, " here let me put up my highway bars and adjust my cup holder" Oh you think your bike is more confortable? I have spent days on the 1k with no problems. I would bet that I could make it across the US faster than you could. We should race! I would waste a weeks vaction for it. I wouldnt even need a week. 3 days tops. :wink:jetskifast said:Batteries
First class bikes have power outlets :dthumb:
Probably, because like my 74 CB. They don't break. I haven't split the cases in over 30 years on that bike.jetskifast said:Bumble, BMW's market is not the person who is looking to buy cheap ricer bikes
Do any of the Jap bikes give 3 year 36,000 mile warranty?
BMW stands by its product with long warranty. Since so few of the cranks failed they could have sold them and risked fixing under warranty like Jap manufactures would have done.
Do you also drive Honda civic  Honda civic guys come over to Vette boards and post same line you are posting here :loser:twisty said:1st class crap you mean. You know whats so funny.
