Anyone know and good de-greasers, my rims on my bike are all gunked up....I wanna give it a good clean and not let it build up again, same goes for my sprocket
first off :welcome: kaboom78 :twfrox:

a buddy of mine uses this degreaser called "SLAM" which is amazing stuff. It is a water based degreaser and really does an awesome job. He sprays on SLAM and lets it sit on there a few minutes and rinses it off with a garden hose and all dirt and grease will come right off.

Do a google or yahoo search on the stuff.:luck:

be very careful with degreasers...the strong ones, with butyl ethers and high Ph's don't know the difference between grease and your "O" rings...

The degreasers with metasilicates are what your white wall cleaners contain and are less likely to damage...

I have some that you can spray on, rinse off that will pull the lube and seals out with it...make sure to read the labels...

Bee brings up a good point. Don't get the good huffin stuff. I use a Castrol Degreaser. It comes in a purple spray bottle. It works great. Just spray some on the rim and wipe off. No bad residue or streaks. Makes the wheels all shiny.

I have heard that many people use simple green. It is a great product and I use it alot...just not on my wheels.

as long as they're not painted... and your carefull.. you can use Breakleen, red or green(i think) cans... I use the red... but if you do make sure you've got a fan blowing the fumes away... anywas... spray it on a rag (not directly on it... to keep from getting spray on the tires, paint, seals) and rub away... I use it whenever I'm working on my truck. removing 200,000+ miles of oil,grime,tar... works great... but like I said... don't get it on paint or rubber seals

Dollar Store bathroom cleaner works great! Buck a can you can't go wrong. I've found that most any household cleaner and a rag do a pretty good job. Anything strong enough to eat off the gunk with no wiping is going to be bad for something else nearby the wheels. I'd try whatever you got before you spend money on "wheel" cleaner.:2cents:

I just cleaned my wheels on my 2001 R1 with brake cleaner in red can and it looks brand new afterwards. I sprayed it on a piece of rag and followed it up with Pledge. Wheels are not only shiny like a brand spanking new set but also glossy when you run your finger on them. Now that the gunk is gone, I just maintain it with Pledge.

I think the break cleaner your talking about is Breakleen... it's in a red can or green for the non clorinated (spelling:dupe: ) stuff...

I use that stuff for EVERYTHING... though haven't used it on my bike... yet...
