Amen to that Gasman. The support from WOS was truly amazing. This is why I am a member of this club. I have nothing but respect for each and every member and even the people who are not members for whatever reason but still choose to be affilated with the club. Each time something like this happens I say there is no way the club can top this and they always do. A member goes down in the twisties - the club is right there to help with anything that needs to be done - from calling 911, to getting the bike back, to helping fix the bike - whatever - even if it is a non-member like Simon as of late. Yeah I felt bad when we rolled in 10 deep and there was almost no one there but also I felt really good that we could literally save the day and make the ride worthwhile - especially when the rider that had fallen is an HD rider and we didn't care about that - he is a rider, period and we were there strong to support him and our sport. Truly today was a proud day for WOS and their fitting tribute to the sportbike community. Today speaks volumes about our club and how we are dead serious about our commitment to riding, to those who ride and to helping out those in need. It was truly awesome! It left me speechless and that is saying alot :dthumb:
To those who sent in donations or that are going to, your support is also greatly appreciated - every little bit counts. To those that couldn't ride or couldn't send in a donation your thoughts and prayers for Roger and his family are appreciated just as much.
The ride organizer, Gary, made a profound and fitting statement today - next year he is confident that Roger will be riding with us. I second him on that statement. With all the thoughts, prayers and positive karma swirling around as well as Roger being a fighter I am confident that will happen as well. I will keep everyone posted on his progress.
I cannot say thank you enough.
