Attached is the info. If you are in the Detroit area and could attend it would be great. This is a friend of mine who was struck by a van that ran a red light and was near fatally injured. He remains, today, a vegetable and they are unsure of if he will ever recover. The flyer has the rest of the info. PM me, post here, email me - [email protected], call Gary on the flyer or whatever you choose for my info. I implore you to consider this worthy cause for one of our fallen brothers.

Address for donations

Anyone that cannot make the ride and wishes to donate can send their donations to:

Shannon Beauchamp
2284 Gratiot
Marysville, MI 48040

I spoke to the ride organizer this morning and he informed me of the following:
1. He wants to try and get riding as early as possible to get to the park to eat at noon
2. They are going to have a videographer for when all the bikes leave the starting point, to tape at the scene of the accident on Northwestern Highway, to tape riding past the hospital where Roger is now and tape bikes arriving at the park.

Ok today I am heading East so I will not have access to a computer. I have to fix a shifting problem on the R6 and then I am off. So if anyone has any questions my number is posted on the www.wideopensportbikes.com forum. Feel free to call me. Otherwise I will see everyone out there tomorrow at 9am. Peace.

WOS represented like crazy! The ride numbers themselves was horrible. WOS was the largest number of folks there. We took the event from like 5 bikes to 15 or so. Desent for us. I felt a little bad that there wasn't as many riders there that the event deserved.

I guess HD had a ride going and that stole alot of the riders from Roger's event. It was a good cause and I think we really scored some good points in the eyes of the HD riders. They were really impressed with us and our showing. I think that is a good step for the sportbike vs HD worlds.

The guy that was kinda of running the event was very gratefull for all of our support. Especially sense MP was the only one of us that knew Roger.

For those of you that made it, I would like to say thank you. It really goes to show the support that we give all riders. It's a brothern or frat/sorority. Us riders really have to stick together and it's nice to see that without all the Jap vs HD non-sense.

Amen to that Gasman. The support from WOS was truly amazing. This is why I am a member of this club. I have nothing but respect for each and every member and even the people who are not members for whatever reason but still choose to be affilated with the club. Each time something like this happens I say there is no way the club can top this and they always do. A member goes down in the twisties - the club is right there to help with anything that needs to be done - from calling 911, to getting the bike back, to helping fix the bike - whatever - even if it is a non-member like Simon as of late. Yeah I felt bad when we rolled in 10 deep and there was almost no one there but also I felt really good that we could literally save the day and make the ride worthwhile - especially when the rider that had fallen is an HD rider and we didn't care about that - he is a rider, period and we were there strong to support him and our sport. Truly today was a proud day for WOS and their fitting tribute to the sportbike community. Today speaks volumes about our club and how we are dead serious about our commitment to riding, to those who ride and to helping out those in need. It was truly awesome! It left me speechless and that is saying alot :dthumb:

To those who sent in donations or that are going to, your support is also greatly appreciated - every little bit counts. To those that couldn't ride or couldn't send in a donation your thoughts and prayers for Roger and his family are appreciated just as much.

The ride organizer, Gary, made a profound and fitting statement today - next year he is confident that Roger will be riding with us. I second him on that statement. With all the thoughts, prayers and positive karma swirling around as well as Roger being a fighter I am confident that will happen as well. I will keep everyone posted on his progress.

I cannot say thank you enough.

times like this, even when your mind/heart is with your downed comrad on 2 wheels..it really makes you proud to be a motorcyclist.

The press needs to get wind of this kinda stuff, and let the public know that we all arent about being squidly and stupid on the roads, but that there are a ton of us committed to safety, public awareness and helping out a fellow rider, manufacturer be damned, whenever we can.

Im sure as Roger is recovering, he'll appreciate all your support!! Let him know TWF is keeping him in mind as well!

Rite on MP! Hey I know when the right thing is the right thing. That pic was one of a few that I took. I would have took more but got caught up in hanging out with some fellow riders. Through out all the posts, the ribbing, and just plain ole BS that comes along with having all of us morons talking to each other day in and day out. You have days like today (well technically yesterday) that make it all worth it. MP had it right, it's days like today that make you proud to be a member of WOS and a rider in general. WOS has always strived to be better than what everybody thought we ever would be. And time and time again, we step up to the plate and hit a grand slam. Even Twisty and his g/f made it to the event with alot of other things that they had to do. He wasn't able to stay for the entire ride but came out, donated his money and the spirit that we all thrive in. Today was a good day to a rider and a member of WOS!

Beyond that, I can't wait for Roger to be able to see the video that they were filming of us rolling out this morning and going by the hospital. We may have only been 15 or 16 bikes but we sure did crank up the music with our own MC version of pipes.

ROCK ON!!!
