I posted up about this in the northeast forum about doing the ride today...

Here's the lowdown..

Today was the 5th annual York County Food Bank Ride for Hunger. Eveybody that rode today, raised money, and the rider raised funds from about 150 bikers totaled over $5,000, so it was a good day. Corporate sponsorship put in $5,000 worth of gift certs and prizes for the riders, and another $2,000 in cash funds as well. It was the most successful ride they've had yet. Plus 1 local company came up and said they were going to match, dollar for dollar, all the funds raised

Anywho, we started out at the foodbank, they had a DJ, free munchies and drinks, and everybody kinda hung out till 11am, then we left for about an 80 mile rd or so through some nice twisties and country roads as well as some highway riding. Took us about 1.5 hours to do w/ all the riders. We were police escorted by 2 of city's bike cops, all through the ride. It was cool, we got to ride right through all the intersections..stop lights and stop signs.. man it was awesome!!! Somebody asked the cop if we could just do that all the time, and he was like, uh, no!

Anyhow, the ride ended up at the expo center, where they had giveaways, free food, biker games, bike show, and raffled off a mini chopper. Had a blast doing the games.. like waterballon limbo, the slow race, the spoon race, and bite the wiener  and yes, they hung a hotdog from a string and you had to ride under it, and ur passenger had to grab it w/ their mouth

So anywho, just thought I'd share. Had a great time, raised alot of money for hunger, and I even won a gift cert. to dinner in one of the raffles.

In case anyone is curious, out of about 150 bikes, only 10 of them were sportbikes kinda dissapointing, but it was still fun and I met some cool people too.

I have pics and I'll load em up later tonite.

I hope you have pics of this hotdog contest as well! That sounds interesting!

I'm glad to see/hear that it turned out so well! More power to all of you that participated. ANother great day for the motorcycle community. Cause we all know tomorrow it will be bad stories about "bikes built for speed".

I just ordered a picture disc that they will send out in about a week, has all kinds of group pics of the riders, the ride, and the biker games, so I'll post those up when I get them.. but for now..

Pics were taken w/ my camera phone... :disapp:

Dont ya know we finally went out and bought a digital camera, and crunchie took it to work to take some pics of her clients, for her album she keeps of the people she does hair for..

Oh, and hey chris, that tricked out kawa in the pic, a ZRX1100, stretched & slammed, stage 3 jet kit, full V&H exhaust, 190 rear tire, and oh yeah.. I heard thru the grape vine that he's got NOS too! :yikes:

I didnt do the wiener one, cuz u needed a passenger for it, but the couple that one, was on a new ZX10, so his girl had an easy time reachine up to get the wiener from the string cuz of sitting so high, none of the harley riders came close that I saw. I did the slow race about 4 times, won it 2 times and lost 2 times, and did the spoon race twice. Just put a spoon in ur mouth and a marshmellow on the spoon, and ride as slow as u can, the first one to drop the marshmellow loses. That's not as hard as it might sound if ur good w/ ur clutch and keep ur head up
