I do unless I think we are parking at a MC event like a bike night with bikes all around me... then I may leave it unlocked so it can be rolled to get a different bike out...

Definitely, All the time, EVERY time...

I have even kept the steering locked while I have been installing my latest round of mod's, and it has been inside a locked garage ! BTW, pic's of my latest mod's will be posted in a day or so.....

I'd do anything to make it harder for the thieves to steal my bike. Lock the steering in the front, lock the rear with a disc lock and arm it with my Scorpio alarm...even in my garage.

Better to be safe than sorry

:iagree: ...another thing Id never do is leave my helmet locked to the bike...I see others do it..I cant imagine some of the nasty things some punks could do to your helmet....

On a similar note... if I had a convertible car...Id never leave it with top down in parking lot.... My cousin had a roadster when he was in college and one night he left his top down and some punks smeared dog pooh all over the interior of his car....

I never use my steering lock. Where I live I don't need it. I sometimes use the helmet lock if I'll be off the bike for a while. Otherwise it just hangs on the mirror. Actually, most of the time I leave the key in the ignition. Around here there is very little problem with that sort of thing. In a public area, if someone messes with something that isn't theirs, even total strangers will take care of business. Living in the country is the way to go. I don't think I could ever live in a crowded area and deal with all the B.S. that I hear about on here and elsewhere. Another good plus is the good roads are closer without all the hassle getting to them. All of you living in the city need to get out here and try this. Its a great way to live.

Bandit you got that country living thing right... I love my city ease for everything else but that is one good thing. Everytime I visit my father-in-law who lives up north out of the city. They always laugh cause I lock my doors all the time, everywhere... they always say... "down staters :nonod: "

I lock my doors ALL the time...Hell I've locked my [email protected] keys in the truck 2 times this month! I'm glad I've got it covered on insurance  I know people that think they are invincable in the country...they don't lock their doors...well they get broke into on a given night and they get totally ripped off....some good friends had this happend a few months ago.

There is the exception to the rule but really its great out here in the middle of nowhere. If I hear a car go by at night its one an hour and the dog lets me know if anyone is around. He catches whatever I miss. Things are different once you get away from the population. The nearest town to me has about 1000 people living there. Up side is they have 3 good pizza shops and the beer store is open til midnight Fri and Sat. :dthumb:
